    its called
\tGrandma's Original Unsulphured Molasses, 12 oz
was just wondering if this is the right kind of molasses. my caregiver told me to go buy some 30$ jug from the hydro store (that he prolly has a stake in haha). im just curious if this would be a cheaper solution, yet still work for a kelp meal tea

  2. Yes, Unsulphured is what you want.

    Sent from somewhere over there.
    No, not there...over THERE.

  3. Does kelp tea require molasses?

I thought molasses was for ACT's, so the microherd have something to nosh on.

  4. what is ACT? i tried googleng but just get some molasses act from great brittian history

  5. yeah silly me..as soon as i posted this i saw that thread.

  6. I have a DIY tea brewer you can build for less than $30. Directions are here in organics and in DIY section

  7. i was just gonna use a 5 gallon bucket w/ lid (that they charged extra for! haha), drill a hole in the top drop a air hose down and put the air stone on the bottom of the bucket. then stir it every day. my pump os probably too small but i didnt realize that when purchased, so ill use what i got.

  8. That's how I make it, I dont use a lid though cause I have a cabinet for the bucket

You need an exit hole for air, don't forget :p

  9. thanks..i did not know that. i only got the lid so the kids would stay away form it and my dogs dont drink it. i have to keep it in my house. how big of a hole would i need? 1/4 inch? 1/2?

  10. That is basically my design... You can pick everything up at WalMart. I recommend 4 1" airstones.. My 2 5" ones slimed over but the 1 inch ones were still churning the tea after 36 hours. The info for hole size is in the thread. Its should be a quarter inch if you use standard airline for aquariums. If you don't have lid you will get some splash out if your airstones work well. It should look like a witches cauldron bubbling

  11. The DIY thread is on the front page... It will answer any question you might have. Don't drill a hole in the lid... It will b a pain to check it while you are brewing. You need a pump that will do at least a 60 gallon aquarium with 2 outputs to get proper aeration and avoid anaerobic activity

  12. i must be too high tonight...is it pinned in the organic section? i searched the do it yourself section under the grow room.design section and didnt see much.

im gonna guess having 1 line in wont work for crap?

  13. Just so it doesn't blow the lid

If you pump air in, it needs to escape, that's all I mean

    thanks

its funny because i did almost the exact thing in our thread...without ever knowing it. you do use more airstones..i only have 1 2pack of the little ones...and maybe my pump is smaller.

  16. Here's a post on my tea brewer.  I ordered a bigger air pump from Amazon.  It really churns it up.  I need to redo the PVC at the bottom to make more of a hexagonal shape, but it seems to be getting job done as is.

It's a 'if you feel like it' sorta deal.

Not required, but it won't hurt anything if added.

    OP: Grandmas is fine
