1St Time Grower - Buddha Magnum Auto (Fem.) Royal Queen Critical (Fem.)

Discussion in 'Indoor Grow Journals' started by ThatGirl508, Jun 18, 2014.

  1. This is my very first time growing. Ordered a few seeds from Herbies Pick'n'Mix and decided to grow only 2 first so that I didn't possibly kill off all the seeds since I don't know what I'm doing. Buddha Magnum Auto-flowering Feminized and a free seed that was given with the order, Royal Queen Critical Feminized. I germinated each on 06/13/14 naturally in Fox Farms Ocean Forest soil in coco tek eco pots by General Hydroponics from the General Organics "Go Box". I haven't fed them any nutrients as of yet, only room temperature bottled Spring water. So far, Critical has pushed through the soil and has began to sprout today. Magnum tried to push through the soil (I saw green through the soil) but has yet to officially sprout. I sprinkled a little more soil on her in hopes that that'll help (since I had the same issue with Critical showing through soil at first and did the same thing). Both plants were germinated in my room on the tv stand and there is a fan that goes 24/7 in here for circulation. Here are some pics of Critical from yesterday 06/17/14 and today 06/18/14. I'm really worried about Magnum she seems to be having a hard time and looked like she was "stuck" in position in the soil when I seen her earlier. However, both plants have 1 or 2 roots showing through underneath the pots through the fabric. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not but I know that these pots are supposed to be breathable and doesn't hold water in. No pics of Magnum yet since she still hasn't sprouted. I wonder if anyone else has had this problem with Magnum or auto-flowers in general... (Critical is obviously the sprouted one). Critical was bent to the side slightly earlier today but I sat her near the fan for a while and then in the sunlight on the window sill. She's since straightened her stem out.

  2. *UPDATE*
The Magnum plant is finally above soil and looks like she will be beginning to sprout soon! I was worried about her the other day because it had broke the soil but it had a twisted stem. Here are pics of her days ago and pics of her now. Her stem is way thicker than the stem on my Critical seedling. ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1403463721.102387.jpg

  3. I've also began feeding Critical a light dosage of General Organics Bio Thrive "Grow" & CaMg+ calcium magnesium supplement. She began to stretch the other day since I still don't have proper lighting so I moved her into a new pot & added more soil to support the stem and stop it from leaning over so much. I plan to buy a light on Friday when I get paid. Hopefully I'll see better results then.

  4. Both plants have since died. Critical fell over and broke it's stem and Magnum just was all bad from the start. It never grew beyond a small sprout and when I put it in T5 lights, one of the leaves were fried so I pulled her out of the soil and noticed that the stem somehow detached itself from the root! Very odd.

  5. I've since planted a THC Bomb seed and a Sensi Super Skunk seed and both germinated fine and are doing very good under the T5 Sun Blaster light. The leaves are literally getting bigger by the day. They are about a week old from sprout here. I will get a better once they're bigger and stronger. They're growing in a cooler that has some type of reflective foil in it. Odd but I don't have money to shell out on tents or anything. 6. Super skunk by Sensi Seeds on the left, THC Bomb by Bomb Seeds on the right. Both are officially a week old from sprout today and it looks like a second set of pot leaves are beginning to grow from the center of each seedling.

    -No nutes

-Light water mist every 3 days

-Sun Blaster T5 light about 2 inches over each seedling

-14 hours of light each day ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1404313448.534157.jpg

  7. Check it out! you're already on your second grow :) these two look great I had a seed sprout on the 24th, possibly the same day it will be interesting to see how they grow together since I am super inexperienced and will have something to reference mine with. Everyone seems so nice and willing to help on this site, if you keep posting, I'm sure you'll have an awesome harvest! I will be following ...Peace

  8. The Super Skunk and THC Bomb look very healthy. Curious - why are you doing 14 hours of light per day?

  10. Thank you! I'm only doing 14 hours of light because I live with someone else who was nice enough to let me grow in a bedroom in their home (it's illegal in Massachusetts) & the light gives off a bright glare at night and we don't want to attract unwanted attention from nosey neighbors. I'm growing inside of a cooler right now until I'm able to save up for a tent. The person who's home it is is also very paranoid of the possibility of a fire (since it is inside of a cooler) and so I have to shut it off before I go to sleep just in case :-(

  11. That dont seem like a bad idea to do then... Lol i am in the same sort of situation where i am. Restricted space, lights, and funds.... I am making do so do what you can... And apparently the cheapest way to go is organic so im looking into that as well....

THC Bomb plant is officially 1 week old from sprout and has began growing her 2nd set of leaves from the center! How fast these things grow amazes me...

Super Skunk is also growing her 2nd set of leaves. She sprouted a day or two before THC Bomb but yet she's slightly smaller but a little taller... ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1404499916.020720.jpg

Haven't watered them in 2 days but I can see new root growth through the plastic cups they're in.

Should I leave them in these for a little while longer or go to bigger pots? And if so, what gallon size should I put them in? I was thinking 3 gal but I'm not sure...

Looks good, am finishing off my first grow.
But currently have x2 autos, just over a month old on the go too.

Go easy on the Bio Thrive, till you have a good set of leaves on your plant.
    What soil are you using?

Thank you! Which 2 strains are you growing? & I haven't used the Bio Thrive on these 2 yet. Just plain bottled water. I used the Bio Thrive on my very first plant (Critical) and she died within the first 2 weeks so I'm kind of afraid to use any chemicals now. I use Fox Farms Ocean Forest.

  15. 3 days ago I planted a DJ Short "Blueberry" seed directly into Fox Farms Ocean Forest soil and today it finally made it above soil!! Went out on a limb spending that much on a seed but I heard good things about this breeder so I took a chance. Any one out there grow this strain from him before? Just curious.
