Mflb Batteries

  1. Hello I ordered a magic flight box recently and I'd like better batteries for them.
Can anyone reccommend the best batteries available?
Also can you tell me what you think of Powerex MHRAA4 Rechargeable AA NiMH Batteries (1.2V, 2700mAh)
I really wanna get the most out of my vape experience since it's my first vape.
Should I just get the Power Adapter and occasionally use the stock batteries when I go out?

  2.
    Ok,

Don't get the Powerex 2700 mAh batteries; heres why. I bought them thinking it would make my MFLB better, because I read everywhere that they did. In fact, they sucked compared to the batteries that came with my MFLB. At some point within the last 2 years or so, Magic Flight had the original batteries that came with the MFLB redesigned, so they work specifically for the MFLB (they have a higher discharge rate than those Powerex's even though they're 2400 mAh, and they heat the box up faster and hold a better charge).

I can't remember what originally came with the MFLB, but I know @[member="lwien"] on here hasn't had problems with his batteries and he has the originals before the redesign. Ultimately I paid $15 for batteries I'm never going to use. I was better off buying spare batteries directly from Magic Flight.

If I were you I would get the power adapter to use at home and use the batteries when you go out. That being said, learn how to use your MFLB with the batteries as it will condition you for when you get the Power Adapter and use it. The Power Adapter can give the MFLB steady voltage which means it will hold its temp better. You still have to push the button in on the Power Adapter, just like you would push the battery in to get things going.

Not sure what your situation is at home, but if you can use the Power Adapter at home go for it. But still, learn how to use it on the batteries first, then graduate to the Power Adapter.

Thats what I would do if I were you...

    Thanks!
Yeah I honestly don't have a problem with the regular batteries, but the charge rate 1-2 vape seshs is unappealing to me, you know what I mean?
I know that the first charge for the batteries is 4 hours as magic flight has said but also do you know how long the next charge is after they are used? And how exactly to not overcharge them lol.
I just don't want to be waiting a lot of time to keep getting high and what not, especially when I'm outside.
    Thanks for replying so quickly.
Maybe I should end up buying a shit ton of batteries and chargers so I'm always ready lol.
EDIT: Also these updated batteries come with the mflb right?

  4. Don't bother. You honestly won't get better batteries than the new Glyph batteries that come with the box. If you need more batteries so that you have a set ready to go all the time, just buy extra Glyphs directly from MF.

  5. All right thanks guys. I'm hoping that the one I ordered off ebay DOES have Glyph batteries haha.

  6.
Not sure on that one unfortunately. I'd think by now, you should be getting one that comes with the Glyph batteries as its been a couple of years since they switched them and started sending out boxes with the Glyph batteries. I'd honestly think by now, the resellers have what they need.

I know what you mean about the 1-2 vape sessions per battery. Yes that is unappealing, and I can tell you that with my experience with the MFLB, that has never been the case. I usually get a good 4-6 sessions with 1 battery. Thats usually about 5-6 hits for me, depending on how full my trench is. Since they're NimH batteries I don't worry about over charging them. I run NimH's in my kids RC cars and sometimes I've left them on the charger longer than they need to be (and I'm talking a couple of hours or more). They're still OK and we haven't blown up the house doing that lol.

Usually what I do is I grab a battery and use it until I start noticing my heat up time taking longer than normal. At that point, I pop that battery on the charger and grab the next one and use it till its done and switch again. Thats on a Saturday; for my usual stuff during the week, both batteries sit on the charger overnight, and until I get home from work. I get home, grab a battery and use it, and switch if I need to mid-evening.

But yes, the Glyph's have significantly better life than the originals, and better performance than the Powerex's. Grab yourself the Power Adapter 2.0 if it becomes a problem, but see how it is with just the batteries and let us know what your experience with. That will be a clear indicator as to which batteries came with your MFLB.

Either way, extra batteries (they only sell the Glyphs now obviously) directly from Magic Flight cost 10$.

  7. I will figure out tomorrow as it should come in the mail my friend. On the bottom of the battery there should be the glyph symbol telling me its a glyph battery.
And hey thats good advice with when it takes longer to heat up, cause I read it runs at high heat temp all the time till the battery gets really low.
The battery most likely wont be a problem because they're cheaper than I thought :3 and I was planning on using the battery definitely a lot rather than the adapter. I just happen to enjoy going outside and smoking rather than inside cause thats what I normally have to do (oil rig). I'm also gonna get a whip for it and connect the two haha.
Lastly magic flight says that leaving them in the charger really isn't good for them and you should take them out and place the cap on them when youre done charging and not using them. The charger mine comes with has a red light indicating when it's charging and green when it's done, I don't know if all do but I figured out mine is a 2014 version kit so I'm sure they're glyph things. Anyway just don't want ya damaging your batteries.

  9.
Thanks for watching out,  but its tough for me to keep tabs on the batteries like that. And when I get home from work, I'd rather just grab some battery and go. I've been charging this way for the past few months on the charger and I haven't noticed the batteries lose any performance.

Not that I'm encouraging people to break what Magic Flight says, but I found it interesting that they gave that advice for NimH's.

Not used mine since I got the PA

  11.
I gotta grab the PA one of these days. I keep talking about it but VAS keeps getting the best of me.

  12. Agreed with red.dnb; the new batteries for mflb are great. They heat up fast and evenly, and mine still last two trenches after one year.

  13. Yes thats about my batteries life as well, and a very good 2 trenches at that. I'm going out for some food on a walk in a little and I'm gonna take it out to vape some.
