That blue widow nug pic looks fucking amazing!! The others look great too, but damn.. I'm drooling over that widow. This year I've got a hodgepodge of different seeds I've collected over the winter. Mostly seeds from different sacks I've bought. I've got 45 started so far in a tent under a 400w hps and about 40 more that need to be started. I'll also be doing some more clones but the majority of my grow will be from seed. Starting a new spot tis year and it looks like an awesome spot to grow. It's nice hearing from ya again man. http://forum.grasscity.com/index.php?/topic/1360849-Michganman%27s-Garden-of-Weeden
Thanks man! Do you plan on taking clones to sex all those seedlings before going outdoors? Peace & Love PyspherE
I started em in paper towel and as soon as I seen the tail poke out I put them in the solo cups. They went into the tent directly into a 12/12 light schedule. Once all have shown their sex I plan on switching to 18-6. Do you think I should of let them veg longer before sexing? http://forum.grasscity.com/index.php?/topic/1360849-Michganman%27s-Garden-of-Weeden
They should all be feminized. I was gifted the seeds from an indoor grower who had a plant directly under an air conditioner and it hermied. I just wanted to make 100% sure he wasn't bullshiting before I put the time and money in it. http://forum.grasscity.com/index.php?/topic/1360849-Michganman%27s-Garden-of-Weeden

Sounds like the genetics you got have a tendency to hermie anyways. I do understand not wanting to waste resources if you're unsure though. On another note, I just found this thread, and as someone who is at lat 44 in hardiness zone 5b I am always trying to come up with new ideas. I live on the ocean, so things become more complicated rather easily especially when considering bud rot. We get fog here sometimes for weeks at a time. I started my babes recently this season and will be posting pictures soon. Happy growing everyone!
^ I think you may be right about their tendency to hermie could be increased, but I hope you're wrong. He had several plants of the same strain and the only one that Hermed was directly under the air conditioner. I'm only startingn them this early because I want monsters this year. I plan on building small hoop greenhouse in my backyard to hold them until they are ready to go to the grow location. This way hopefully it will be warm enough late April early may to throw them outside. Good luck on your grow his year man! I had some troubles with bud rot and powdery mildew last year as well so I plan on taking some different precautions throughout the season( heavier defoliation, green cure etc). Hopefully we can share ideas and help each other throughout the season. Welcome to the group. http://forum.grasscity.com/index.php?/topic/1360849-Michganman%27s-Garden-of-Weeden
Sounds like we are on the same page. I also have seeds from a hermied plant that have perviously proven to be all female (knock on wood). I do not plan on sexing them before budding because I typically spend zero on my grows. I have the privilege of being able to check on my plants whenever I want, AKA I am not a guerrilla grower, which allows me to scan for male signs on my plants every day during budding. I will be making a similar greenhouse to you once all of this snow melts, but that could still be months from now. I almost feel guilty starting the seedlings this early because I know that I am risking having a much higher chance of stress induced males, but I would love a heavy yield this year, so I will sacrifice. On the topic of mold and bud rot, whenever I see any sign of spores I switch over to water curing. It drastically reduces flavor, but when I am forced to go this route I typically do a huge hash run. Hopefully we will have a late and dry season this year. Fingers crossed! As you can see I am new to GC, so it should be quite nice having others to bounce my ideas off of. This thread seems like it will be extremely helpful as I continue my grows. Planning on getting funky this season, so we will see what happens.
What's up everyone, this is my first post but I've been growing guerilla style for awhile now. I started 3 super skunks, 3 Swiss cheese, 3 Kaya golds and 3 short rider AF March 3rd indoors under a 2ft t5. You guys have Really nice grows and I appreciate any help I can get Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
Thats what we are all here for dude, mutual support and advice. There's some good, helpful people in this thread and I'm sure anyone here would be willing to help you on whatever you need. Good luck and welcome. Edit: hope that kyah gold finishes in time for you. Hope your weather stays pleasant till mid October so it can mature to it's full glory. How far north are you? http://forum.grasscity.com/index.php?/topic/1360849-Michganman%27s-Garden-of-Weeden
Yah I started pretty early this year and Im from Massachusetts Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
Welcome! Feel free to ask any questions or drop any info you may think is important! A lot of us deal with some of the same struggles! Peace & Love PyspherE
Thanks I'll be active from here on out, these are my baby's that I'll hopefully be planting some time in the next month or so, I'm going to go for a bike ride today and try and find a good spot for them Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
So does any one know what I should look for when trying to find a good spot in the middle of the woods? Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
look for a clearing to the south, this will give the plant the best light. The more sun the better in the woods really. Look for more open areas that will facilitate a breeze to deter wet season mould. That's sort of what I look for when considering spots! Peace & Love PyspherE
Isolation first and foremost. Water access. Somewhere with a good base soil so you can place your own fertilizers and organic amendments in and not have to lug in nearly as much soil for your grow. Should be somewhere that has very dense vegetation(bushes, thorns, brush, small trees etc. go to the densest area and make a clearing that is south facing. I like to make a wall of trees and branches I cut down.(see pic below.) http://forum.grasscity.com/index.php?/topic/1360849-Michganman%27s-Garden-of-Weeden
Ohio checking in here selecting locations will be adding pics soon for real urban guerrilla growing on first attempt
So I just went for a hour walk in the woods and found a hunting chair high up on a tree, a bunch of deer shit and also found a bear den with fur and huge piles of shit lol all real good signs Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
damn that sucks bout the hunter though...hunters notice all kinds of trails no matter how small. Hopefully he's a gun hunter and not with a bow so he will be out later in the season. http://forum.grasscity.com/index.php?/topic/1360849-Michganman%27s-Garden-of-Weeden
Yah I didn't really plan on planting near where I was anyways but still sucks, just means I'm going to have to take more precaution Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
So when do you guys plan on / normally transplant to outdoors. I haven't grown for a few years. But I started my plants way to early and are starting to smell. Is 4/20 a rule of thumb for planting outdoors. Should I wait till farmers in my area start planting their crops in field?
