Hey GC! I got my cabinet all set up and my genetics all started! I will be growing 3 Autos in my cabinet. I will be using a different grow style for each strain! The first is a Dinafem Auto Cheese in a 3gal DWC bucket with rockwool and hydroton. The second auto is a Dinafem Auto White Widow which I will be growing in a 2:1 ratio of cocoerlite. The final plant is a Auto Seeds Berry Ryder that will be grown in a peat based all organic mix. They will all be exposed to the same lighting and ventilation. I will be starting with 2 x 23W 6500K CFLs then moving up to a 90W LED UFO designed for veg and clone. Once they start budding I will add the 135W LED UFO for flowering and eventually move to the 250W HPS to finish them off. In the DWC I will be using a straight chemical nutrient. The Coco will be getting General Organics BioThrive Grow and Bloom. Finally the peat based organic will get mostly just water with some teas added from time to time. The cabinet has a 4" inline Vortex fan with a speed controller and a carbon filter for exhaust and an active 4" intake using an 80mm PC fan. I have the vortex fan sucking air directly from the HID batwing reflector which should really help with the heat from the HPS bulb. The 4" carbon filter is located outside of the cabinet to make more room inside. I have also attached a small 4" desk fan inside for circulation. The HID ballast has been located outside of the cabinet as well to cut down on heat. Because the LEDs run so cool and have built in cooling fans I able to run the fans quite low. Anyways I'm just waiting for the beans to pop and I will transferring them into rockwool, coco, and peat. Feel free to leave comments! It should be a fun ride! Hey there! I have a very quick update. All 3 seeds germinated and have been planted in there respected medium to start rooting! As previously mentioned the Dinafem Auto Cheese went into a 1" rockwool cube surrounded by some perlite. I put the Dinafem Auto White Widow into 1 Cup of 2:1 ratio of coco to perlite. Finally the Auto Seeds Berry Ryder went into an organic mixture that contains 2 parts peat, 1 part sea compost, 1 part composted manure, 1 part earth worm casting, plus a 1/4 cup of organic fertiliser mix. They are all under a 2 x 23w 6500k CFL fixture. In the next 24-48 hours they should pop above the surface. Once they do I will add some pictures. As always, Peace and Love! Hey guys! Here a few pics! As you can see I have them under CFLs currently. I know they're a bit far away but tomorrow I will get them closer. First up is the DWC Auto Cheese. Next is the Auto White Widow in coco and perlite. Finally the auto pineapple express in organic mix. Over the next few days I hope to pick up a 3gal bucket, lid, net pot, hydroton and larger rockwool to put together the DWC. I will also be getting 2 3gal pots for the organic and coco/perlite. Feel free to leave comments and suggestions! As Always, Peace and Love PyspherE
Hey GC! Here is an update! I have everything in their final containers now! The Auto Cheese is in its 3 gal DWC with a 6" net pot, rock wool and hydroton. To start off I added 300ppm General Organics BioThrive Grow with 100ppm CaMg+, 1tsp/gal Advanced Nutrients VooDoo Juice, and 2ml of SuperThrive. The Auto White Widow is in a 3gal container of 2:1 mix of coco and perlite. Again I used 300ppm of General Organics BioThrive Grow, but used extra CaMg+ at 300ppm to load the coco, again I added 1tsp/gal of VooDoo Juice and 2ml of SuperThrive. Finally the Auto Pineapple Express is in a 3 gal container of 100% Organic soil mix. It will be getting only water and some AACT. I also have some pics from my all organic outdoor grow this year. There are 14 total out there but that will be cut down once the males show themselves. Feel free to make any suggestion or ask any questions! Peace & Love PyspherE
Interesting... That organic mix sounds awful strong for a seedling probably going to get some wavy leaves and some burnt tips but it should be fine.
The great thing about a good organic mix is once it has been cycled properly it won't burn even seedlings. If the manure and sea material were not fully composted then it would definitely burn the plants. The organic fertiliser mix hasn't been added yet but it will be when flowering starts. the earth worm castings are actually great for seedlings!
I am a strictly water only organic grower... I use a 3 parts peat, 3 parts vermiculite, and 2 parts EWC mix for my seedlings. I don't expose them to my grow mix until about the 2-3 node. This is because I have been burnt before using composts for starter mixes. Since you haven't added the fertilizer I can see that mix working but that manure compost is what I was mainly concerned about but hey if its working for you no need to change. Have you ever switched up the order of the HPS and the LED?
Looks interesting. Good work Subbed Check out my auto grow http://forum.grasscity.com/absolute-beginners/1306901-blazemans-indoor-auto-grow.html?forceDownload=1&_k=fa013142b86a0423f9885328145d7fcc
This is my first try with this setup so I haven't had an opportunity to play with the lighting yet but I do plan on doing some all led and all HID runs as well as dialing in a good combination of spectrums from both light sources! Hey GC! Quick update for you! The Organic Auto Pineapple Express is definitely doing the best so far. View attachment 1485418 The DWC Auto Cheese is also doing pretty well! The Coco Auto White Widow is moving a little slower but is making progress. And finally here is a few of all of the seedlings Peace & Love PyspherE Sent from my Nexus 5 using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Hey GC! Another quick picture update. Here is the organic Auto PE Next is the DWC Auto Cheese And finally the Auto WW As you can see the white widow is lagging behind while the pineapple express has taken off. As always, Peace and Love PyspherE
Hey GC! PyspherE here again! I am amazed at the initial growth from the organic auto pineapple express. The only 2 variables are genetics and medium and I'm not sure which one is to thank for the growth. The DWC auto cheese is also doing pretty good! I've started rotating frozen water bottles from the freezer to the res to get the water temp down a bit. So far its working well. The Coco auto white widow is lagging behind but I am definitely going to let her ride out this rough start. Here's a side by side comparison of the three I've also started marking the days on the panda plastic with a dry erase marker. And here's all of them tucked nicely away! Here is a bit of a tour of my stealth closet/armoire. The Dinafem Auto White Widow is starting to move along and the second serrated leaved are becoming more prominent The Dinafem Auto Cheese is coming along quite nicely in the DWC system. The G13 Labs Auto Pineapple Express is doing the best by far! Here is a side by side for size comparison I recently covered the lid in aluminium tape and spray painted the outside of the bucket white to try and reduce the water temp a bit more. Alternating frozen bottles is also helping a lot and bringing the average water temp down around 69*f. As of today it has been 11 days since the seeds sprouted. Hey GC! The cabinet is looking good lately! Here's the thriving Auto Pineapple Express! It is doing amazing and growing everyday! The Auto White Widow is also coming along nicely as well and is starting to sprawl out a bit. The Auto Cheese is just starting to grow a little more vigorously as well but is still lagging behind. Here's a group shot to compare size! Feel free to comment, ask questions, or give suggestions! Peace & Love PyspherE
Hey GC! Here is a little update. I have moved the Auto Cheese in Coco outside to make a little more room for the Auto White Widow and Auto Pineapple Express. The Pineapple Express is doing amazing and has just started throwing pistils! The auto white widow is doing pretty well and now that I have the proper nutes for DWC I'm hoping she takes off again. She has started to flower over the last week and the buds are starting to form. The Auto Cheese is well behind and I couldn't justify taking space from the other plants that are doing much better. I moved it outside today and I'm hoping that might actually help it along. I also have a quick nutrient run down here. For the pH monitoring and adjustment I use a pH metre and double check with the pH drops. I also use a ppm metre to check nutrient strength. To adjust pH I use optimum hydroponics pH up and down. For additives I use 2 products. SuperThrive for the trace elements, and voodoo juice to help with root development. For the Coco I am using General Organics BioThrive Grow and Bloom, with added CalMg+. In the DWC I have started using General Hydroponics Flora Micro and Bloom using the Lucas Formula. The Organic soil doesn't get any nutrients but I hope to get some high PK Guano to use with EWC to make a tea. That's all for now! Here's one last PIC of the cabinet. Peace & Love PyspherE
Hey GC! Here is an update for the armoire grow! Both plants are budding along now! They have just passed day 33. The Auto White Widow by Dinafem is starting to put some good weight on and starting to stack up a good bit! The Auto Pineapple Express is doing amazing! The bud sites are forming nicely and she is getting pretty branchy. The main cola is starting g to look pretty nice now! Anyways that is all for now! Peace & Love PyspherE
Here is the little auto cheese outside on the balcony. Its definitely not going to produce much at all! I'm really not sure what went wrong with this one. There were no signs of deficiency or anything else. Oh well! Peace & Love PyspherE
You might want to try a little LST on that one... some autos are just really small. They got more of the Lowryder in them I guess. Here is my AKR just after starting to flower and here it was before I chopped the main cola last night.
