1200W Mars 2 Led Thc Bomb And Super Sonic Cristal Storm

OK figured I would share this grow from start to finish. Although new room is completely done it will be really soon. I decided to grow using the Mars II 1200w LED Grow Light. I've done some research and feel like I'll do some good. This is my first grow in awhile. I've had a lot of things going on. This thread/topic will be updated really frequently. So here's the info of the grow.

Lighting: 1200w (520w-600w real draw power) Mars II LED Grow light.

Growing Medium: Pro Mix All Purpose

Nutes: None Yet will start using Alaska Fish Fertilizer (5-1-1) for beginning of veg.

Grow Space: 4ft Wide/7ft Tall/2.7ft Deep

Ventilation: None yet, will be using a MTN 4in Inline with Carbon Filter (65w-190 CFM).

CO2: None. Will not be using this grow.

Strains: THC B0MB and Super Sonic Cristal Storm Auto Flower. I could only afford one seed with a freebie which is the SSCS. I popped the HTC B0MB and its now a 5 day sprout. I'm also growing 7-8 bagseed SHWAG seeds just to experiment with. Lol I have a feeling the shwag seeds are going to look 100 percent better than the shwag it came from.

Containers: 5 gallon buckets.

Time In: 5 Days

OK so I finishing up my new grow drobe I made from scratch. I about done painting. I am then hanging the White glossy Sheets of vinyl like plastic on the walls. Then cut out my holes for the inline. After that I'm hanging my light. I'll have to tweak for light leakage. I'm having high hopes for this as I just invested a little over $1,100 into this project just to try this 1200 MARS II. Which is pretty cheap for a grow drobe. Though, today when I checked on the sprout on the bagseed sprouts there is mold like substance on the top of the medium which is worrying me to death. Any help would be appreciated as I've never had this problem. I've heard there are Beneficial Molds. My luck its bad. I'll post pics after all other pics.

Trust me I know they are stretched pretty bad. They are just hanging in there on a very low watt CFL while the growroom is being finished. Once in the grow room they will bush out. They look sad lol. They will forgive me though.


The pictures do not show the Mars 2 1200w power what's so ever. It looks a lot brighter than in these pictures. I know there's tons of light leakage lol Don't worry I'm working on that now. I still have to caulk, weather strip, paint, hang white gloss plastic. Also, I'm going around but he doors with 1x4s to fix the edge leaks. Its going to look good. Not the best but decent. I hope these two seeds do well. I could care less about the bagseed lol. I'll prolly get 3 females out of the 6 thats planted. Everyone is welcome to this thread. I am very open to criticism. I like to hear opinions and ideals. Right now on all the bagseed sprout cups there is a little mold looking substance on top of the medium. This really worries me. I've heard there is beneficial mold and very bad mold. I'll post pictures, any advice would be nice.

 

Let me tell you guys something. So I got the growroom pretty close to being done and I couldn't have my babies under the low watt CFL anymore just to "hang in there". So I fired the light up and put the babies under it. Well, everything was great. The plants seemed to LOVE this light. The leaves are reaching upwards just soaking it all in. The plants are very dark green and I swear after just THREE hours under the light you could tell a noticeable growth difference. I love this light. So for the bad news, This Light puts off so much damn heat guys. I mean alot more than I was thinking it was going to. I don't have ventilation yet so I've just been letting the girls soak up some rays while the doors are open with a fan blowing in till I can afford the inline/filter I'm planning to buy. Well not only does the temp inside the box get up there, It brings the temp of my pretty big room from 79f to 88f. Man I have to turn it off after around 4 hours because I'll be watching TV and start sweating from where its trumping the central air. OMG this thing kicks out some heat. So now, not only am I gonna have to install the inline/filter sooner than expected, I'm going to have to vent it into the attic which I did not plan on doing. I intended to vent into my room just right outside the box. There's Noway this can happen now. The exhaust will just heat my room up so much. The fans on this thing are very powerful, so much that it actually sways itself in a circle just a tiny bit. I was looking into a dimmer of sorts to kinda tone it down a little until its needed in the middle of flower, but all the research I've done points to not using a dimmer because its dangerous. Any input guys?

 

Okay so here's a quick update guys. I have been giving the girls 4 hours a day of led and the rest CFL due to heat issues that will soon be fixed. These plants got pretty bad under the one 13watt CFL I had them under to just stay alive while I did some things. Honestly I've had to play the waiting game so I could collect a couple paychecks because I spent so much on the light. Which the light was actually cheap at around 500, I couldn't grow wrong right? Lol I'm just a broke guy I guess. I could have gone smaller after seeing the heat issues. But hey, here's some pics. It will look better, please dont knock me to bad.

Here's a pic of the THC Bomb. These have been really growing under a Real light for only around a week. They have all been kept under a 13 watt CFL just to stay alive as I had problems with the box I was building with put a halt on a few things til now.



Here's a pic of labeled Bag Seed #1 and Bag Seed #2 to the right.



Bag Seed #3 Seems to have a Cal/Mag deficiency or maybe just because I have it in a small cup, either way I'm transplanting all of them to 5 gal. Buckets tonight and starting them on nutes which will be Fish Fertilizer 5-1-1. What you guys think about the rim of the leaves?

 

Actually I am not running any ventilation at the moment. I am in the process of buying a 4 inch 190cfm inline fan and filter. I hope that will work because basically its the price that picked this for me. I wasn't thinking clearly when I chose the 1200watt Mars. Also, I thought I would be able to put off the ventilation til I began Flowering, boy was I wrong.

 

You are definitely right, actually I was going to transplant them tonight to 5 gal. Buckets.

 

I know the the white sheeting is crooked lol, after the 5 gal. Buckets are in there things will look a lot better. Also, after Lst'ing and a bit of time its going to look full in there. The THC bomb is feminized and I have no idea about the bagseed. I want to end up with just 3 plants. So were going to have the THC bomb, the supersonic Cristal storm and one female bagseed. So hopefully out of those shown I end up with a good female bagseed. The ventilation will be added in the upcoming week, just placed an order now will be waiting for delivery.

 

I can almost guarantee that this light will blow the 600 watt hps out of the water. I know some can work wonders with their hps systems but most people using these LEDs correctly are getting close to a gram per watt. I've done a lot of research and a guy was running this exact same light in a grow tent and averaged 16.5 ozs at least. I mean I'm pretty sure they are comparing these 1200s to the 1000 watt HID systems and even then some are out performing even the 1000 watt hids running half the wattage from the plug. That's just what I've learned from the research that I have done.
