I Want To Get A Pet, But I Dont Know What To Get

  1. Heh, rhyme.

Anyway I really want to buy a pet, nothing like a dog or a cat, I was thinking more along the lines of bearded lizard or something like that. I'm just really not sure what kind of lizard or fish or whatever to get. Any suggestions?

I'm basically looking at getting a reptile, my friend suggested an Axolotl (he had one, they are pretty cool) and my sister suggested the bearded lizard, but yeah, still torn. I just want something cool that can hang in my room (in a glass container, but that can also hang outside on my desk/bed/floor/etc) with me.

  2. Hah, rhyme.

I hope that was you being a poet but not knowing it, or I take that back.

  3. I know people that own leopard geckos, they're cool

  5. It was most definitely me being a poet but not knowing it. I'm glad that my hidden Edgar Allen Poe was evident.

Leopard geckos sound pretty fucking cool. Are they difficult to maintain?

  6. Get an Australian Bull Frog. You can lick it and get high from what I hear.

  7.
They're quite on the easy end of reptile care actually.

One of the main benefits of keeping a leopard gecko is that they don't need any type of UV light, which can be expensive and annoying. They're nocturnal, so the only heat source needed is usually provided through an under-tank-heater mat. Half the enclosure is their warm spot, the other half their cold spot. They thermoregulate themselves.

A drawback most people find when keeping any type of reptile is the feeding. You have a couple choices in this department, but the two most common feeders for leopard geckos are mealworms and crickets. Crickets are more fun to feed because you get to watch your pet run around eating em up. They're also easier for them to digest and better for them nutritionally.

Before feeding anything to your reptile, they need to be gut loaded with food and vitamins, making them better for the animal. Most pet stores will only provide these feeders the bare minimum to keep them alive before sale, so this depends on your local pet store and if they follow this trend. Gut loading is as simple as sticking your feeders in a container with a gut loader product for a day, then sprinkling them with a reptile vitamin powder before feeding. They call it the "shake and bake" method because most people add the vitamins in a plastic bag and shake it around a bit.

Hope you find your perfect pet

  8. Water dragons are pretty cool, get em when theyre young and they will be very tame/chill.  Like little iguanas w/o the temper.

  9. Dude it's call bearded dragon, but yea I suggest you get one of those there pretty friendly calm and cool to have but don't hot box his tank and then take him out he might think your finger is food lol

  10. Chameleons are cool.

  11. Get these strange frogs where you can lick it and get high (kinda like where homer from the simpsons lick toads on some islands)

  12. Get &  American Bully.

Can never go wrong. They are the best dogs ever. Do your shopping. The Gottiline & Razors edge line are both really good bully bloodlines.

  13. I had an iguana named Spike and he was awesome. He would whip my hand when I reached in his cage to feed him, but as he got older he became more gentle and chill:) try an iguana!

  14. Get a pet rat. I have one, she is amazing. If I had to get a reptile it would probably be a small snake or an iguana.
