So here is my first grow - 9 Auto Flower Seeds: 7 Dutch Passion Think Different Fem, 1 Samsara Ultraviolet Fem, 1 Delicious Seeds Northern Light Blue Fem Soil: TGA Soil for now, Will transplant into Fox Farm Ocean Forest Nuts: General Hydrophonics - FloraGrow, FloraMicro, FloraBloom Supplement: Floralicious Plus Tent: 5x5x7 Lighthouse Hydro Lighting: Xtreme Nano 600W Digital Ballast, 600W Digilux HPS bulb Ventilation: 6" Inline Fan, Fan speed controller, 25' ducting, 6" room fan Misc: Ph Kit, String Scrog, Tub for water, Pump & Tubing I let the seeds soak in cups of water for 24 hours. They've been in wet paper towels for 50 hours or so. Starting popping tap roots last night. I'll plant them in soil tonight. Still deciding on watering. I have a RO system in my kitchen thats a few gallons because I sometimes have high Uranium levels in my water. I've been using neutral bottled water for now. Also still deciding on pot size .. 3 or 5 gal.
I planted the seeds last night. In 1 gallon pots for now. I think I'll be transplanting them into 3 gallon in 2 weeks. They aren't where I'll be growing them that's just where I have them until they have leaves. The tent I ordered will be here tomorrow So I an get that set up this weekend maybe, with the 600W HPS. I've got (4) 55W CFLs in the room they're in now. Is it okay to start them at 600W when leaves appear or should I dim it to acclimate them? I have 50%, 75% and 100%.
I waited until my seedlings were 8 days old to introduce them to a 400w mh. They came from being under 2 6500k 4ft t8s and 2 3000k 4ft t8s, so I started my light about 18 inches over their heads, then every couple hours I lowered it an inch. By middle of next day I had the 400w just over 11.5 inches over their heads and the tops of the plants were 80f solid. Read somewhere 80f is a great temp for the tops of your babies, so I try not to let it get too warm on them, highest has been 82f. So, not that I know all as I am doing my 1st indoor grow ( have grown outdoor for 12 seasons, but they were no maintenance grows, plop in buckets take to some remote field and leave em there til fall. Whatever mother nature did for ya, you get. ) but I would start it off at 50% and the light a little higher than if they were mature, you don't wanna burn your babies Sent from my SGH-I337M using Grasscity Forum mobile app
What do you guys think of my schedule for nutrients? I want to ease them into roughly half manufacturer recommended dose. That seems to be pretty common. any thoughts? (ml/gallon) Here's the manufacturer's recommendations:
Hehe I don't know, I feed with only water, using all organic medium like compost, perlite, vermiculite, worm castings pro mix organic and alfalfa hay the one in the back left is a little over a foot tall, the one in front left is just trying to look big with 2 huge fan leaves shading my fimed area lol. 24 days old.
Started to pop outta soil today. Hmm when do I start day 1? When leaves form? Looks like my tent won't be getting here for another few days. Probably set up my hps soon though. The 220W of CFLs won't be cutting it well for much longer. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
Well the setup is great and cfl works great for a while. Also these are autos? you should have planted in final soil and pot from start as autos hate to be transplanted
Yeah all 9 are autos. I wanted to plant in tga standard soil because I heard that fox farm ocean can be too hot for seedlings. I guess when would be the best time to transplant them now that I have to? I'll mix some of the soil they are in now to better acclimate them to ocean forest. I picked up some 3 gallon pots and trays for them the other day. Waiting for my tent to arrive Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
I will send you a link to my journal later head chef is helping with my grow you should stop in and link up with him. He is very good with auto and cfls. You know not to top or fim an auto right? He has got me doing an lst and with great results

Thanks. I plan on switching to a 600w hps along with the 220w CFLs when my tent comes in I'm hoping next week. If it's longer than that I'll probably mount it up in the sauna- where they are now. (No the sauna isn't on lol) Day 1 - all sprouted! Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
End of day 3 .. Any idea what's wrong with this sad little one? Is he a goner? Any recommendations for when I should transplant? Currently in 1 gallon with TGA Soil, going into 3 gallon with fox farm ocean forest. Tent came in last night so I should get that up tonight. I've got a small fan running on them on low. Doesn't seem to strong to blow it over... Especially since there are other plants much closer. Lights are 4 55w CFLs about 6 inches away. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
Photo from day 5. I put up the 600w HPS. Dimmed to 50%. The tent is in the process of going up. I have to move it to a different corner of the room due to some heating pipes near the ceiling in most of the room. The tent is 7' tall. I had to put the CFLs back up. Because I kept popping a breaker. It looks like the room they are in now is wired with one GFC outlet. So I tried plugging the extension cord to another outlet and that outlet is on the same circuit as the GFC so it still trips. I could probably run an extension cord to another outlet and find one that's on a different circuit. Some of the wireing in my house is old. I hope the light being out didn't hurt the plants. It didn't blow right away. I was there for 5 minutes after I started it up. I hope when I move the plants to the grow tent a few rooms away I won't have the same issues. I have a power strip plugged into a nice extension cord. Is the strip maybe causing issues? I also have a small 6" room fan plugged in. Trips without the 2 CFL lights being used. Thanks!
