Can anyone recommend rock songs with long instrumental jams to get high to? Something similar to: - No Quarter - Led Zeppelin - Dazed and Confused - Led Zeppelin - Dogs - Pink Floyd Also any good dub albums that have high production quality.
Most late Pink Floyd albums. Meddle, Dark Side, Animals, The Division Bell... But when I think of spacey? I think of PF's Wish You Were Here. My favorite album by them and I've actually described it as "space jazz" to hundreds of people. Also, there's a song on Meddle that fits the description particularly well called Echoes. I think you'll like it if you like Dogs.
buckethead is awesome trippy transy guitar long songs. maybe you should try getting into prog rock if your not already. check out Closure in Moscow (they are fucking amazing) Coheed and Cambria Tides of Man Rush (not my fav but whatever) and if you like harder shit Animals as Leaders. all bad ass instrumentals, i can get seriously lost in that shit when im high Coheed is my all time favorite band. the song writing is just fucking amazing. closure in moscow is some of my favorite shit to listen to high. check out pink lemonade by them (song, not the album(everything on the album is awesome, that particular song is just really long and spacey)) sorry those bands arent instrumental (except animals as leaders) but you should check it out
more post hardcore, but hollows or horcruxes? by A Lot Like Birds Hot Water on Wool by Dance Gavin Dance has a pretty trippy intro, but it's not entirely instrumental don't let the label post hardcore make you think it's some generic shit, these two bands have the most original post hardcore and experimental rock sounds in the music scene today. no one else like them, but many try to copy their style. Will Swan = guitar god
Lots of Frank Zappa songs have long guitar solos. Try "The Muffin Man" (solo starts at 1:50) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ptoN-5QE0Lw
Try Explosions In The Sky to start man. It's great. A.Armada and The Mermen are great too! (They're two different bands)
