Trichomes Help

  1. Hello everyone,

I am trying to see if my plants are ready for a flush. But I am having trouble judging the trichomes. I posted a few pics below I took with my iPhone with a microscope attachment- side note, anyone thinking of using an iPhone microscope, it seems worth it. Tricky to use, a pain to remove the case, and you have to deal with unbelievable involuntary muscle spasms making the images a trick to keep clear but... well this is what you can get with effort!

So any thoughts? I feel like the trichomes are cloudy yet they also seem clear(ish).

  2. Looks good dude.. Wait till u get a tiny bit of amber amongst those trichromes then you're ready.

  3. Thanks! So you would say this are in fact milky? One plant is an indica heavy hybrid and I want couchlock for that- it's for a rheumatoid arthritis patient. The other, this one pictured, is my sativa 'Trainwreck' and I want to go for energy so I want to avoid too much amber. But I can't tell if this is milky or almost milky. I have stared at dozens and dozens of photos online and I am stumped with my own buds!

  4. If you start flushing now, the trichs will go milky/amber faster. Or you could just leave her alone and let her tell you when she's ready.

  5. I'd love to be able to read the signs when the plant 'tells' me it's ready. I am going to check the trichomes again today but I still cannot tell if this counts as cloudy or clear. I know it sounds dumb but it looks like both and changing the angle and lighting has not changed the images in a way to make a definitive conclusion one way or the other. As I am going for couch lock on another plant I am definitely looking for amber there. But the sativa I want to catch before amber appears.

  6. lol its almost cloudy... Dont cut ur plants down for another 2-4weeks.... 2weeks MINIMUM!! trust me , i promise you the wait will yield you more potent bud.

  7. Yeah, I'm a bit nervous, you can tell! But thanks for just a good ol confirmation that I'm doing alright. I think I will begin the flush soon. Per the strain information I found online the timing is right, I just wanted confirmation from the plant, so to speak.

    Thanks again, mate.

  8. they are not ready yet flush for 2 weeks then she should have a nice mix of amber and cloudy depending on what you are looking for I like 15% amber 85% milky Keep checking your tricomes they will tell you when they are ready to harvest
