Maryland Legalization

Discussion in 'Marijuana Legalization' started by budmasterdank, Jun 5, 2014.

  1. It's my understanding that currently md medical law consist of getting a doc recommendation and if your caught it's 100$ fine if you can prove medical use in court.
Md has also decriminalized MJ. As a small fine for possession under 10 grams. And no criminal charges no jail time no legal issues.

Now MD has also passed a medical law. It's just taking forever to get up and running. And needs a lot of revising. It's still in the beginning stages.

Now we have this wonderful govs race going on. And heather mizeur is top on my list. She want to push for full legalization. Taxed and regulated like alcohol. She also has many other great idea.

It looks like if she is elected gov. Md will be after Colorado on full legalization. I believe she is our next gov.

Just thought I would fill people in on what's going on in my home state right now. I'd say we are on the right track to legalizing.

Thoughts and feelings in the issue

    I myself prefer medical use.
And I use it for medical uses
To help with anger, anxiety, helps me sleep. And helps me open my mind to new possibilities. I just feel that full legalization is to early. Not that it's a bad thing. But good medical laws are really all we need. The people who should be using cannabis will be and people who just should not smoke weed won't have that access to is. Which I feel is fair. Although I have nothing against it. And personally don't mind if it is fully legal or just for medical. But heather mizeur is definitely for legalization and she will get it passed. If she's elected and she will also be a great gov. If we legalize and tax take a way md personal income tax. Which Charles lollar wants to do. But it can't be done with out having the tax revenue in place of it which cannabis would create.

  3. cannabis does not know the difference in medical or recreational. also the person using cannabis gets the exact same benefit as everyone else that qualifies as a human person. to boil it down, there is no difference in medical or recreational, it is the same plant and just like the air you breathe, everyone else breathes the same air.

Damn! I've seen plenty of double and triple posts, but never a 9-post!

  5. She was Joseph Kennedy's legislative director and John Kerry's Director of Domestic Policy.

Good luck with that... oh, but she's using the "legalization" word so it all must be true and what everyone wants to hear.

Enjoy spreading your stink here, OP.

  6. You sound like an "elitist" to me. Who in the hell are you to say only so and so can smoke because of this or that medical condition?? People who "shouldn't" smoke cant!!!????
That is an elitist prohibitionist statement if there ever was one.
I suppose in your mind, drunks are the only ones who should use alcohol, because being an alcoholic is a disease.

  7. dude it was like 1/5th of her running platform she cant back out of that, even o malley signed medical and he is just an empty suit

  8. 😂You know... "those people"... who have NO business smoking weed, SHOULD NOT have access to it! Only "We", with legitimate medical conditions, like anger, anxiety and trouble opening our minds to new possibilities, should have access!

  9. Less than 10g in Maryland is considered a civil offense, no jail time and no criminal record.  You will get fined though.

Yeah but decriminalization is good for the state of Maryland. No longer have to worry about going to jail. The real problem it's still possible to go to jail. There's a loophole in the new law and plus if your caught with an ounce your fucked. Lately I've been browsing over the internet. There a lot of predictions that Maryland might legalize recreational marijuana in the year 2017, if you don't know. The year 2016 a lot of states will vote to legalize marijuana in a few states. Legalization is going to sweep the country. That's why we need states like Oregon, Alaska and DC to legalize weed this year on November 4th. Im glad Maryland legalize medical marijuana and decriminalized. It's a sign Maryland is going to the right direction.

  11. That is why I'm buying in small amounts.  I won't buy 1 oz unless I really trust the guy and the conditions are safe.
