Sticky Fingers In the Sticks

  1. Thanks! Saw that previously, just got nervous doing my own plants. All 3 were successfully topped and have two new branches growing straight up.

  2. Got a bunch of pictures to upload....
Basic update: 3 main plants are doing great minus a small pest problem - I've got tiny little flies that like to eat my plants and hide in the soil - sprayed all 5 plants with neem oil.
Moved the 2 bag seeds outside today, kept one in the milk jug, transplanted the solo cup into a blue fabric Walmart bag - going to see if it's a cheap smart pot since it was laying around in my closet.
I'm probably going to make a new thread to ask opinions, but I have placed them in a partially shaded area outside, direct sunlight will definitely still hit it occasionally.... I'm just wondering if them being outside in the shade is still a stronger energy source than my little 135w Led (which apparently has one of its bulbs out I noticed today)

  3. I think mine wandered in from the basement, my new batch of soil that's been cooking for about 6 weeks had some hanging around the top. They aren't bad enough to kill the crop, I just need to keep them under control...

Still working on getting all my pictures organized and uploaded to a host site, so I can comment between pictures haha. Neem oil seems to keep the bugs away for about a week per application though.

I think I'm going to wait longer than you for flipping the lights, I removed my shelf and lowered my light, I've got decent space to work with still

  4. Old pictures that survived - photo post test:

So even deep inland here in Maine we were just passed through by hurricane Arthur, I lost power for 6-8 hours during lights on period... Reset my timer to ensure my plants are back on schedule. No new pictures this update of the 3 plants in the cabinet.

    Inside 3:
Going to start doing lst off my tops asap, I need some better tie material, grabbing some today before work.

topsoil got some EWC before I watered them.... Mixed some neem oil into the water (hoping I didn't just ruin the point of adding ewc to my soil)
Added more intake holes, added a ghetto carbon filter ( tried the pen cup method, cups weren't different enough in size to work right) I'll be keeping an eye out for things to fix the carbon filter problem, I've got an idea just looking for the right objects.

Outside plants: got drenched, and have definitely stretched a bit, but they look healthy. The location they are at doesn't get direct sunlight until around12-1pm but they get it direct from there until Sunday- they are at a West-southwest facing tree line.
They have been topped, I've thought about cloning the outside plants and checking sex... I don't have the heart for my inside ones to be cut lol.

Took a nice vape break after. Love my arizer solo, one for me and one for my girlfriend- saved my girlfriend and I the cost of the vapes in weed after just two months..... Then we started getting half ounces at a time.... $140 to last us a little more than a month with daily usage 2-3 times each. Flavor of the month is headband.

  5. Started lst 2 nights ago... Just a recap, these three plants popped above soil on May 31st.
2 Z28 plants (local buddy bred this strain, I honestly don't remember what his crosses were)

First 2 pictures: Z28 #2 started out as the runt, probably my most symmetrical plant.

Photos 3&4 are Z28 #1. Was the strongest plant, I apparently suck at handling this one gently - broke a branch topping, and when trying to lst, pulled one of the tops too far, slightly snapping it. Taped it up, decided against training that branch, may do a spiral lst with this plant.

Photos 5 &6 are the night train plant - it's actually turning out to be my favorite of the 3 so far.

Had to use neem oil today, saw a few flies in the cab and crawling around the soil.... Been coming back once every 2 weeks

  6. New photos! They look great... Got some tiny flies hanging around in the cab though... Really thinking I might grow Basil with the plants in the future to help scare the bugs off haha.

Two pictures of the group, followed with
#3 being night train with successful branching and LST.

picture 4 is Z28 #2 , lots of undergrowth trying to come though, going to train the branches to get some light.

Picture 5 is my surviving amputee Z28 #1, still growing good... Thinking about flipping lights in a week or two, depending if preflowers or 2 weeks come first haha.

  7. Partially genetics maybe - just watered them today too, so they may have been slightly thirsty. Even after a watering they get only a little perkier. It may also be because they are unhappy with those flies... Working on getting rid of them. Was told peppermint essential oil may work too - put two drops in a container in the cab after setting up my ghetto carbon filter, testing the filter at the same time haha

So, in the following photos, any brown you see on the plants is where I dripped mint essential oil on the plants (stupidly but accidentally) all 3 are looking much nicer right now though.

    Order of photos, in pairs
    1&2 are z28#1
    2&3 are z28#2
    3&4 are night train
4&5 are clearly the batch lol
Going to topdress with ewc tonight for the last time during veg
. Maybe 2 more weeks then flipping lights.

  9. Forgot pictures.

The tallest point of the plants are 4.5 inches... The canopy is very even as you can tell in the group photo. Maybe only one week until I flip. We'll see how they bounce back from my abuse

I moved the light down 2-3 inches after the photo - also took picture of my ghetto carbon filter... It works, but it will definitely need supplemental odor control.

I'll try to get photos of the outdoor plants soon.

  10. Wow! That oil really did a number. Doesn't look like the plant was harmed just those leaves so that's a plus. Besides that she looks good!!

What type of fan do you have pulling the air thru the carbon filter?

That one, definitely still pulls air through. I want to get another fan inside for circulation, had to use the one I started with up in the little boys room to get heat out of the second floor

  12. Feed them girls they look like they are starving

Won't you help to sing, these songs of freedom.

  13. So, small photo update under the lights.... There is definitely something wrong - but since the topdressing the night train is looking pretty and perky, but the 2 Z28 plants in the front of the cab are droopy sad plants.
    I'm wondering about a few possibilities -
    1. Nitrogen deficiency(should be cleared up by next watering though with my topdressing I did, so not sure it's this)
    2. Overwatering - it's very possible they are over watered, the night train just bounced back better since I believe it's showing to be much stronger.
    3. My retarded mint essential oil incident (seriously I feel like the biggest idiot for that)killed off some microbiology in the soil or hit roots maybe?

I'm going to hold off on doing more than watching for a couple more days when they will probably need another water feed. I'll take any theories into consideration because I'm definitely a newb here still.

Would also like to note that these plants are in the same exact soil batch and everything I've done - watering /lst and topdressing were all done at the same time - except when I originally topped them and when previously mentioned essential oil incident was untargeted collateral.

I'm really digging that night train.... Better be a damned lady.

Edit : I've smoked the Z28 before, I liked to call it creeper weed because you'd smoke it and think it wasn't doing anything, and then boom! It hits you hard, never had a delayed high before.
    Never tried the night train.
