Connecticut Medical Marijuana For Anxiety Disorder

Discussion in 'Medical Marijuana Usage and Applications' started by jack3219, Jun 4, 2014.

  1. Hey all,

I have used marijuana on and off in the past with friends, but I noticed that every time I did it I felt a great relief in anxiety. I am diagnosed with social anxiety, generalized anxiety, panic disorder, and depression by a psychiatrist. I have been on a variety of meds the past five years, non of which have really relived my anxiety to a level where I feel like my old self. Recently I have done research on medical marijuana in Connecticut and I have seen the list of approved conditions. I do not see anxiety on there at all, what gives? Should I try to go to my local marijuana doctor to get a recommendation or will it be a waste of time and money since anxiety is not on the approved list? Thanks.

  2. Is your anxiety exhibiting itself as panic attacks induced from post traumatic stress disorder?

  3.
I'm not sure how I could tell that. The only things I have heard about PTSD are soldiers returning home with horrible anxiety from the battlefield. My anxiety started from stress and self esteem problems so I am not sure if that qualifies or not.

  4. Are you sure you haven't been the victim of a violent attack, or targeted by systematic bullying?

  5. I never have been attacked before, I was bullied as a kid for being overweight, I think it is one of the causes of my anxiety and self esteem issues. I also have a horrible fear of being the center of attention ever since I had a horrible panic attack before a school presentation in high school where I had to go to the nurse because I thought something was happening to me. Ever since that time is when my anxiety really ramped up. So do you think I have a chance in CT trying to get a card with this problem?
