Im trying this next time to! After that it has to be fired and cured perfectly http://forum.grasscity.com/index.php?/topic/1318541-Perpetual-Closet-Grow-{Second-&-Third-Grows}
Just finished shredding up a paper bag for it. I'll let ya know if it works good in a few days. I have a hygrometer for the jar to let me know if it's in the right curing range so hopefully this one goes smoothly.
cool keep us or me at least updated, your also doing the multiply trims ? http://forum.grasscity.com/index.php?/topic/1318541-Perpetual-Closet-Grow-{Second-&-Third-Grows}
Forsure and yeah I don't know if its cuz this thread is in the organic section or what but this journal is fuckin dead haha. No i'm not doing multiple trims though. I did all of my trimming wet, I find it to be way more tedious when the bud is dry. It'll probably make a slight difference but I think it should be fine. The stems are right at that point where they look like they'll snap but don't just yet, and the buds are feeling very dry. I think i'm right on track so i'll give it a few more hours and then brown bag em up!
Big picture update Here's how the plants looked on day 58, one day before the chop. To be honest I would like to have run the one on the left for longer but there's a heat wave going on and it's been unbearable so it was time to chop. The ace plant on the left had mostly cloudy trichs with some amber. The one on the right had a mix of cloudy and amber. The master kush in the back had about a 65/35 mix of cloudy/amber. Here's a shot of the Master Kush all trimmed up right after it was pulled. And here it is after about 3 days of drying. This was actually the largest yielder in terms of bud size. I might just keep it around after all. Now on to the shots of the dried bud. This part is more for reference of judging the LEDs ability as part of my review for CLW. I must say first though, this grow was not my best work. I had a good amount of problems along the way and I should've vegged for a bit longer. It was really a set it and forget it kind of run. With that being said, here's the photos. Ace of Spades - The one I referred to as Godzilla Ace of Spades - The skinny sativa leaning pheno Master Kush And if anyone is curious as to how the clones are doing now, here they are. I haven't given them nutes in about a week so they're looking a little sick.
Well the buds are out of the brown bags and into the mason jars. After seeing how little the harvest was, I gotta say I am very disappointed with this led (California Lightworks 220w BloomBooster). A 200w CFL harvest I grew in the past was about spot on with this one. Actually, it may have been slightly more. That's pretty unacceptable. Plus, the led ran fairly hot and would raise the temperature in the tent by about 10-12F from the ambient temperature outside the tent. Penetration was poor as most of the buds right below the main colas were underdeveloped. One good thing I must add though is the main buds have a good amount of trichs, more than a CFL grow but a decent HPS would blow it out of the water. I'm wondering if the problem was that I didn't keep the light close enough to the plants, it may have been a few inches too far which drastically cuts down the lumen output according the to product spec sheet. Either way, do not pay $500 for this unit. It's not worth it, not even close.
very nice info to know http://forum.grasscity.com/index.php?/topic/1318541-Perpetual-Closet-Grow-{Second-&-Third-Grows}
Yeah that's pretty much my take on that light. To be fair to the company, they did say the 220w model works better as supplemental lighting than the sole grow light. I just might keep this light around to do one more test though. I'm gonna do a single plant scrog on the next one and keep the light really close. I'm gonna use the godzilla clone since it gave me the least amount of problems in this grow. But that's not happening until winter probably.
shame that it didn't even cut the heat as much as people want to think http://forum.grasscity.com/index.php?/topic/1318541-Perpetual-Closet-Grow-{Second-&-Third-Grows}
I think the buds are over dried way beyond the curing range. No moisture has come out, they're still very crisp. I should have hung them for 48 hours and then bagged them for 24 or so. The buds were small though so there wasn't as much moisture to lose. With your harvest mike it might work better to follow the guide. Get one of these too, you'll be able to tell exactly when to burp the jars or if the bud is too wet still by giving the RH inside the jar. I should have used it on this grow but I think mine needs to be recalibrated. http://www.amazon.com/Caliber-Digital-Hygromter-Western-Humidor/dp/B00JXOKQVW/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1406580772&sr=8-4&keywords=hygrometer+western I ordered some 62% humidipaks last night. I'm gonna see if I can save this round with those. Not sure if it's too late though.
I smoked a small joint of the godzilla ace of spades plant earlier and I was blasted for hours. I've been dabbing exclusively for the past month, so I waited until a fresh morning without any dabs to try it. It's a strong one forsure, TGA gear is awesome. Definitely recommend their seeds. I thought it was going to be more of an indica stone since the purpling from the black cherry soda parent, but it's actually a total daytime sativa. Strong sativa cerebral rush for the first 30 min and then gradually declining sativa-indica high over the next couple hours. Great strain, definitely a keeper! Oh yeah and the other ace plant is showing some purpling during veg. Thought that was pretty cool since most only purple late in flower.
