Its probably not legit moonshine Its a lower proof (watered down) Depending what state you are in the amount of actual ethanol in there should vary.
In some states (NC, VA, Tennesee etc) there's legal moonshine, it's just a high-alcohol white whiskey. But the good stuff is the illegal stuff which is distilled without a license and all that. But like with all illegal drugs it could be dangerous and whatnot.
I thought the fact it was underground during prohibition is what made it dangerous? People would get sick and die because some douche wanted more money and did some shady shit during the process. Every substance should be regulated and available In a pharmacy setting where you get a prescription every month, and if you need a higher dosage then you get taken to therapy to find out how it's affecting you and if your getting addicted.
Its dangerous in the way gasoline or really any highly flammable liquid is It can produce vapors that will easily ignite and blow your ass up Also its a very very very thin line between having a good time and fatal alcohol intoxication
