Secret Music You Listen To?

Discussion in 'Music genres, Bands and Artists' started by inc, May 27, 2014.

  1. Anyone got that one singer/band you listen to that everyone thinks is gay, stupid, whatever shit people say about music? Ie: lorde comes on the radio and everyone's instantly like "CHANGE THAT SHIT" even girls😂. Then you know every word to that song. Haha little secrets are so weird? Anyone else have a song like this? Mines royals and tennis courts.

  3. I remember being a 14 year old emo kid and blasting the hell out of that album with my group of social reject friends. Even in that awkward phase though I still listened to thrash metal! Funny how back then I kept the fact I liked metal secret while now I dare not mention that I still listen to this album and a couple other 'emo' albums from back in the day. Only on the occasion though and mainly for the nostalgia! These days I am far too into the metal and punk cultures to allow myself to slip up and mention MCR or anything else lol.

Another one from this awkward emo phase in my life lol.

  4. Hhahahah exactly. I saw the Used a couple times way back in the day, and actually bought 3 cheers the other week just to have it aha

  5. I love Coldplay. Sometimes I cry when I listen to it, because it reminds me of when I was younger. I didn't have a great childhood, and it's painful to remember it, but when I want to reflect on my life I usually listen to Coldplay. Coldplay fucking sucks, but I love them.

  6. Fuck that shit. If you like something you like something.

I still listen to Nsync, Hanson.

I listen to what I like, who cares if anyone disagrees

  7. JJ
Cause no one wants to chill with the bros listening to that lol
    Thats alone time music

  8. I got ripped on for liking a lot of music.

A whole bunch of my "friends" made fun of me for liking Iron Maiden.

Another person made fun of me for A Tribe Called Quest.

I still think those two artists are in the top 10 artists of their respective genre.

  9. Those so called friends have crap taste in music IMO lol

  10. For some reason alot of people hate videogame music.  dont understand it.

When i'd play a game with my friends, they'd like turn the radio on and hit mute.  the fuck?

I mean it's not really secret music for me, i just dont share it because alot of people are shallow and only like popular music. lol

  11.
Annicus all of my friends have pretty much always hated my music.

I actually quit making rock music because it seems like theres not enough people to listen to it that I know.

My high school friends always made me listen to top 40 bullshit

That's why its really a treat to meet people on here who share my tastes. :metal:   Stuff like The Orb, Can, 60's psych rock.

  12. Uncle Kracker and Nickleback 😂

  13.   ^^^

Hmm...nothing secret really... I am not ashamed.

    Does Raffi count?

  14. No secrets here. I get shit for being an "Avril Lavigne stan" on a regular basis because I've followed her entire career and occasionally make the mistake of trying to clear up ridiculous misconceptions. That toughened me up and now I have nothing to hide

  15. Mariah Carey ... "and you'll always be my baby, we'll linger on..."

  16. Mariah Carey is undeniably talented as a singer, even if you don't like her music... no shame in her. I love that song. And a lot of her music. Some of it, not so much, but especially the early stuff.

  17. don't laugh -

  18. I listen to a lot of music most blades (or people in general) would probably go "...what?" to.

Love how the first post was My Chemical Romance  I really dug their first album and the Black Parade, three cheers was pretty decent too. After that, not so much.

And I'm still a fan of the Used. Hell, I saw them with a couple local bands in Memphis last summer, great show too. Imaginary Enemy really does not float my boat though. But besides that, I still like the Used after all these years and don't give a fuck what anybody's got to say about it

And I don't know why but I dig this song.
