Plant Encouragement

Discussion in 'Advanced Growing Techniques' started by daffyshuler, May 26, 2014.

  1. So I've heard it said that playing music close to a plant will affect it. What if we play music for our buds?

I'm thinking as combination of Bob Marley and classical music will cause it to affect the chemical balance for the psychoactive ingredients, thus affecting the high. It could even cause more potent buds.

    This is only a theory.

    Thoughts?

  2. I need some of the weed you're smoking. Just PM me when you're ready to send it! :smoke:

  3. I'm actually sober and dry, this is why I'm doing a grow.

  6. Look into dr Masaru Emoto you'll find answers your looking for there, in short yes music has a effect not only on plants and not just music. Happy smoking

  8. I too play some reggae for my plants from time to time, my Sativas get hella dreadies on them! But I think it's more for my amusement then from any benefit the plants get! But, on a serious note(ha!ha!), it has been my personal observation that my girls respond best to Mozart and Tchaikovsky. Keep it Green! Peace! :smoke:

  9. Seriously, classical is the way to go. All data and research to date seems to point towards lower vibrational frequencies concerning benefits for plants. These are the frequencies most classical music generates. Keep it Green! Peace!

  10. My problem with all this is evolution. When did over millions and millions years plants get exposed to such things a music for so many generations ( I'm talking millions of generations) to become evolved to grow better when hearing music?

Although it has been proven that SOME plants emit low level sound...

  11. Well as you can see the way weed has developed in the past 50 years, I'm sure its possible for them to have adapted to enjoy music.

  12. Bahaha I don't know if i should laugh or feel sad for you. Evolution takes MILLIONS of years over MILLIONS of generations. Evolution does not in ANY form take place over 50 years. Selective breeding is NOT evolution.

The genetics of marijuana have been the same for the past millennia.

  13. If selective breeding increases potency, growth patterns n all that good stuff why wouldn't it be able to make plants like some kinds of music? Anything is possible.

  15. It's not the music the plants "enjoy" it's vibration, long story short everything emits a frequency measured in hertz, everything? Yes everything light sound movement not just our plant but everything around you what you can see and what you can't and not everything can be heard by human ear obviously so what plant does is react differently to diff frequencies and what you are doing with music is essentially adding positive or negative frequencies to its environment. Does this have direct impact with how plants react? Yes, studies have all ready been done plant will grow towards certain music or away from with different affects to growth as well. The real question is does this have any effect on cannabis and if so what effects carry over, better yield, higher potency, does it manipulate the effects of consumed products? That's the real question.

  16. Documented effects of plant response from lower frequencies has been, more lush, vigorous growth, more flower sites(shortening of internodal spacing) and because the plants are more vigorous and healthy, more resistance to pathogens and pests. As far as the human consumption of said products, I can only assume, because the plant was healthier, the quality would increase resulting in increased benefit for the consumer. I utilize classical music in my grows, but I don't consider it a "grow technique". Rather it is something I added after all the other aspects in the grow were fine tuned. Most are amazed at the quality I consistently produce. So, for me, wither it does anything or not, I 'm not changing anything! Cool topic! Keep it Green! Peace! :hippie:

  17. A pure water source, good lighting, quality inputs(nutes), good genetics and a grip on the environment are the most determining factors in producing quality cannabis. Follow this and you will be golden! Peace! :yay:

  18. Because no one has selected for it. No one said "Oh boy this one really digs my jams, Ill clone it."

If you had some different strains, grew them all the same, play some slayer and one grows "better" then breed it out and repeat. Then we can use the words selective breeding.

My point is for a plant species to be able hear, it had to evolve it. You can't breed in that.

  19. Plants don't hear anything! They are responding to wave lengths of different frequencies. Every living thing(including us), every sound, movement etc.., produce and also respond to various wavelengths. Most of these "frequencies/wavelengths", are not even audible(thoughts produce wavelengths!). An oversimplified explanation is; what you interpret as Slayer, the plant interprets as vibration. Peace! :metal:
