I am trying to do a proper scrog grow without topping and only LST. I was wondering what time I should start training my girls for scrog. I am also wondering how far the screen should be from the soil. I have 8 Obama og clones right now in a 4x8 tent. This Obama Og is a cross of Presidential Og & Afghani. My medium is a soilless mix, and right now I am using a light GH nutes regiment. I am using 2000 watt HID's starting with MH right now, and when flowering will switch to HPS. Please if you can give me some tips on training. Something detailed would be awesome. Thanks guys!
I start training as soon as I put the screen on. I don't put the screen on till they reach the desired height. I would give at least 6"+ of room under the screen, this can vary widely between grows because it's mainly preference. I personally leave about 8"-12" of room under the screen (between the screen and top of pot. Grow the plant a few inches larger then place the screen and bend the plant to start the LST. Hope that helps some, I kinda rambled a bit.
