    Hello blades!

so this will be my first grow/journal/organic soil and im stoked  :yay:  to be sharing it with everyone here! i hope to learn a lot and help others out with info on this page so please have a seat speak up and thanks for stoppin by!

so like i mentioned im totally new to this gig so what better way to get started that with organic soil right? well ive been talking a bit with jerry (thanks so much J it really meant a lot!) to get my soil mix right and ive been cooking for 3 weeks now. i will hopefully be getting a clone tonight and will post when i do regardless. so lets get to it shall we?

    Soil Mix
ive done a lot of reading thru many journals and guides for beginners and have recieved lots of help from others and in the end this is what ive come up with to start.

I made about 2 gallons worth of soil

    .5 gallon = 1 part

     i started with

2 parts peat moss (brand=ferti lome)
1 part red lava rock (about pea sized)
    1 part EWC (brand=age old)
3 table spoons agricultural limestone (brand=hi-yield)
4 table spoons kelp meal (brand=age old)
6 table spoons tomato tone (brand=espoma)

Moistened the mix to about a well rung out rag and have been keeping moist. i also made a clone starter mix of equal parts Peat, Lava rock and EWC.

    Grow Room
i have a utility closet in my house that works well for constant temp. the room stays a nice 74F and about 40% humidity the room it self is L2' x W2' x H 3' i will be expanding as needed. right now the walls are covered with white trash compactor bags cut to size, i figured it was better than nothing and the plastic is relatively thick. i have 2 CFLs at 20 actual Watts each and will add as she grows but will probably max out at 160 actual watts by flower.

  3. Moved her down stairs to my original set up. Was having trouble with quite cool temps over night and wanted to make sure I had everything dialed in before I did the move. Here she is all comfy and cozy. Might take her outside for some fresh air and real sun after a few days.

Still haven't had a second opinion on that possible powdery mildew on the bottom fan that's dying any help would be great! Here's a second look at it image.jpg

  4. So I checked on the girl when I got home from work today I think she got a little too much water in the soil when I transplanted from the rockwool. Anyhow she seems to be perking up a bit since I've just left her alone water wise. I got a few responses about the PM unfortunately nothing majorly helpful but some direction from jerry and will be hunting out some neem oil tomorrow and a silica or pro-tekt was recommended. Did some research and found NPK's PM wash. Anyone have any luck with this product? I've read the climate is the most important deterrent for PM but I'm not I'm total control of my rooms climate other than hot cold. Humidity out in Colorado is around 30-40% so totally confused why PM is showing up and still sorta at a loss for the remedy. Heard 1part low fat (not skim, homogenized, or 2% milk) or no fat milk to 9 parts water works as the calcium is beneficial as well as fights PM but again still sort of lost. Again neem is what I'll be lookin for tomorrow (dish soap is also a for of silica for the neem oil) any help would be awesome and here's a pic of the girl today. image.jpg image.jpg

So a lot has happened some trials and much learning . To sum it up a bit here's some pictures of what I've been doing (the seedling ended up not making it).
This was after a my lights fell on her so I had to trim the main stem and tie it down and restarted off the first node.
    image.jpg
This is 2 weeks later after the transplant and cutting the stem (the second node made it at well)

  9. Thanks Forsure will check it out clockdock and thanks madDr both of you for the sub 😁. I added a few light yesterday and rearranged the room for easy access. Been playing with the lights a bit as far as what reflectors best and how to use more lights and less reflectors for more concentration I've also added a few 2700 bulbs sort of on purpose lol i bought the wrong pack but decided to add two to the mix. Anyhow here's from last night there's a small brown heat/light burn on one of the leaves cuz she grew into the cfl and was literally touching the bulb.

Just wanted to do a little update she's been growin like a champ and will probably keep going till she's a good foot and a half tall then transplant to a bigger pot and soil mix that I've been adding to and cooking since I got this girl. The cooking mix has an added part of alfalfa and crab meal I got a week or so ago should be primed and ready by the time I'm ready for the bigger pot. I was having issues with fungus gnats a few weeks after I had cut the main stem and tied it down. Last week I got my crab meal from kelp4less.com (couldn't find it locally unfortunately) came in and on my regular watering schedule top dressed lightly with a bit of EWC mixed with a bit of crab meal then watered and in two days they appeared to taken care of. So here's some veggin porn she's grown a bit and I've switched out my lights from 20actual watts with 6x23 actual watts. Temps are staying awesome around 76 Fahrenheit lights off and 80 lights on.

  11. What's goin on blades just a growth update I lake a ton of pictures so here's some growth. Going to wait till she hits a foot and a half then transplat to a 7gal bucket of the full mix let her adjust then flower. Trying to keep size down a little on this run due to only using cfl so I can keep the light close and keep it cool still. Here's what she's been up to. There's a burn on the top set of leaves I let her out in the sun yesterday and she shot up last night into the bulb and I didn't catch it till later as lights go on at 6 and I'm not up till 9 lol

  12. Couldn't wait. Got home and did the transfer prolly coulda waited but first timer impatience killed me. So here she is got a good root ball IMO from what I've seen image.jpg image.jpg

  13. Just flipped the lights to 12/12 changed out the bulbs for 2700k 138actual watts of cfl. Ready to see how these buds are going to turn out with CFLs. I cut a clone off her before the lights went out. The little ones in some soil under a makeshift humidity dome. Anyhow heres a pic of what she looked like before the lights went off. image.jpg

  14. Few days into flower added 4 bulbs to the line up. image.jpg

  15. Looking nice and healthy as far as I can tell! Good job man, Im a first time grower myself. Sub'd in for the rest!

  16. Thanks!

  17. Hello everyone so I ran into some PM spots 2 to be exact on 2 separate fan leaves about the size of a dime so I used a damp paper towel and wiped both leaves then pulled a few that were close by to open it up for air just a bit. Also after spotting it I moved the fan and turned up the speed a bit. I'll be going to get some potassium or sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) to spray her down with a mix I'm going to try from a thread recommended by @[member="thomasmfjefferson2"]

I do my waterings outside on the balcony cuz it has a drain and no drain downstairs. I like to let her breathe and get some real sun when I can and it's great to see her in the sun here's one of her outside on watering day hehe 😁
