Organics Small Scale Grow.

  1. Hello fellow blades (if I've earned the title yet that is) about a week and a half ago I finally started growing again. I've got a bubba Kush seedling going as well as a few unknown strain bag seedlings. I will be doing weekly updates, maybe more frequent depending on what happens that week. I've got all the plants in seed starter pots right now, I will transplant into 2 liter pots once I have the plants 3 nodes tall. The only seedling that is sprouted right now is the Bubba Kush, but I started that one a week before the rest.

Here is the Bubba a couple days ago

  2. Here is a few pics of the girl today. Second set of leaves going strong. Gonna let her go maybe another week in her seedling pot, then I'm gonna stick her into a 2 liter container.

Got 5 more seedlings that broke the surface a couple days ago. Not sure about the genetics for the other 5, just some bag seed I got Ahold of. Mainly using them for testing and practice more than anything.

Anyways, I promised pictures, so without further ado here are pics of my bubba. I will have pics of my other seedlings later today maybe

  6. Small update, no pics ATM . Transplanted my bubba Kush last night.

I also picked up another 68 true watt CFL bulb (300 watt equivalent) damn thing is huge. I'm running one 300 watt equivalent soft white right now, and 2 100 watt equivalent daylight bulbs. When I flower in gonna get another couple soft white 300 watters but that'll be for about 2 weeks into flower to minimize stretching

  7. Alright, so I haven't posted in a few weeks, but I've been kinda ashamed. I think I transplanted my bubba a but too soon and into too large of a container. Either that or the soil mix I put her in was too hot and I should've let it cook a little first, OR I was a little too rough with her when I transplanted. Either way her leaves curled down and started to yellow. She's recovering now, but not fully recovered.

That's what she looked like just days after transplant.

Since this point I have transplanted the other 6 seedlings that I started, and my last 8th seed popped (my other bubba)

Here's all the girls enjoying yesterday's sunlight 1401810815885.jpg

Gonna let em grow out for another week and from there I'll decide whether to start flower, or to transplant em one more time.

I'll also be picking up my other lights and more fixtures on Friday. Will post more pictures then.

I'm gonna have to see if I can't find a hydro store round here with some Mycos, gotta get my beneficials going and get these plants nice and happy....ier

  10. It's been a while since I last posted. Don't 've pics at the moment, but all you need to know is the girls didn't like their soil. They look like they've been neglected really badly (except for one) almost all of their leaves were slowly curling up, yellowing, and dying off, so I transplanted one of them into soil that I got from my dad's house, which had been sitting underneath the compost heap we have over there. I saw improvement the next day.

After that I tried again with another plant, but used a mix of the new soil and my store bought mix. Again, improvement the next day. So now I have transplanted all of them, and I'm just waiting on them to recover

  11. Ok, one day after transplanting all my plants I am seeing very good results. I'll take pics tomorrow to show you the damage.
I'm still too embarrassed to show how bad they are at this very moment. At 2 days you'll be able to see the extent of the damage without seeing how yellow they were before I transplanted them into the new soil.

Anyways, just one day after transplant and they already look better than the day before. All the new growth has either perked up, or gotten greener. All the older growth is starting to look greener. The leaf curl is becoming less and less noticable each day (for the 2 who have been in the new soil for more than one day). Also the ones that have been in the new soil are also starting to have substantially more noticeable growth.

Anyhow, what did I learn from all this? Do not have your soil or nute mixture too rich, even if you're growing organic... Local organic potting soil (which already has compost in it) mixed with a bag of compost = not so happy plants. Newb mistake x( at least I know better for next time.

Pardon me if I rant for a bit here... While writing this post, stoned with a couple shots of vodka in me, my mind kinda wandered off in thought and I was thinking about what I wanted to grow for my next go around. I have a bagseed from a bag of "Blue Demon" not sure if anyone's heard of that? I got it from one of our local dispensaries and this stuff was DOPE. One of the best highs I've had in a while, and the bud looked top quality. I know it might still have a tendancey to herm simply because it was probably the result of a herm in the room, but I honestly am mostly doing this for practice at this point. Probably going to be moving into a new place soon, and I will probably be able to expand my grow a bit there, as well as get some quality seeds. I don't know who I'm going to go through just yet... I have a friend that lives down in Oregon, not too long of a drive from me, I'll probably go visit down there and meet up with him at some point. He's got some strains he's grown that are really good, he's just not running them at the moment and can spare some seeds.

For anyone out there that may be reading my lowly post here, if you're actually following me and wondering where I've been for 2 weeks I can explain. I'm a new father, I have a 9 month old son, and unfortunately I can't find the time in my day to post like I used to. I really wish I could post more often, but I do appreciate those of you who have stuck with me! Even if my results have been kinda lacking, I just hope that someone can read my post and learn something, even if it's just what NOT to do, lol.

Anyhow, I'm going to now end my rambling and go to bed.... or play some swkotor2tslrcm... or smoke another bowl.... or maybe all of those, in the reverse order i mentioned those? yeah, i like that idea. :smoking: xD

  12. We are now 3 days after transplant, the plants are looking a lot better. Not quite 100% but much better than they used to. 1403368741010.jpg

That's a picture from yesterday. At this point all the plants have either one or two more new nodes, and most of the healthy green color has returned.

  13. Alrighty, another update. All the girls are happy and almost all color has returned except to the oldest leaves. Branching is beginning on all plants at this point. I'm gonna finish out the week and give em the flip

  20. Forsure! I totally understand the near death. My girl fell out of her pot. Was on the floor out of soil for a day. Had to restart from the first two nodes! But she's kickin now I guess that's why they call it WEED cuz it's a tough bitch! Glad their on the rise
