Hello GC, checking in from North County in SD. I have to say in really enjoying the ability to take part of SB420 and Prop215. A little bit about my background. I grew before back when I was younger originally at home back in Chicago. This started out my passion and love for cannabis cultivation. After a few successful grows, time and space never allowed for me to continue growing. After my time in the military, rah to any devil dogs out there, I ended up in sunny SoCal along with the ability to finally take up growing all over again.

So to start it out, I germinated a kush bag seed from a few years back. It sprouted originally in an organic soil mix I got from Walmart. This ended up burning the little seedling. I ended up doing a TP into 100% sphagnum moss. After about a week and half I just transplanted it into it's 5 gallon bucket it will finish in. It's now staying it's first night outdoors in my balcony. Since it sprouted til 20140512 I supplemented it with LED lighting which had it on a 22/2 light schedule with about 8 hrs coming from direct light. Now it will be staying outdoors and only receiving sun light with no additional lighting. It's in a mix of mostly EWC and vermiculite with about 15% being made up of a bag mix I bought at my local hydro shop. It's made by a company called north county bounty and it's their 420 blend. The guy at the hydro shop said it's comparable to FFOF but more airy. After checking the ingredients it seemed good enough for me with solid ingredients too. I noticed it was a very light and airy mix when I opened it up and mixed well with the EWC and vermiculite. There is also a layer or sphagnum moss in the bottom covering the drain holes and about 5% added to the mix as well.

Anyways I'm doing to this journal not to only help me keep track of my grows progression. But it's also to help me get any input, tips and advice from the more experienced. It's been almost a decade since my last grow so it's definitely going to be an interesting ride. The second pic shows the problems with the nute burn prior to being flushed and TP'd. The 3rd pic was from earlier today before being TP'd into it's final home. Hopefully she shows female. Again any help or input is great appreciated. This is my first OD, organic and medical grow so to a learning experience. Peace

  3. It's been a couple weeks now and a few updates are needed. Picked up two clones, Cheese and Super Lemon Haze, one from a shop around Vista, the other around Orange County. Also have two seeds of each, Wonder Haze (Reservoir Seeds) and 3rd Dimension (TGA). That I'm trying to pop, one of the 3Ds already germd going to throw it in a starter pot later tonight. I accidentally topped the kush plant twice. The cheese plant was fimmed, supper cropped and is being lst'd. The super lemon haze also got the same training. The kush plant is also being slowly trained. Will continue super cropping, lst. Plan is to utilize a scrog but plans may change depending on the situation. Here's a little picture update. Ladies catching some some a couple days ago. All the ladies are in a 5 gal bucket with a potting mix amended with EWC and bat guano. Am feeding at half strength with fish ferts currently on a 5-1-1 ratio.

Drilled holes on the sides of all 3 buckets. Figured drilling all these holes would help with soil aeration. Same concept is used in worm bins and composts, thought it wouldn't harm to try it out. 1/4" drill bit was used with lines of 5 holes going vertically circling the entire bucket. 5. Transplanted into smarties. Cheese was supercropped. SLH is currently undergoing lst and will be fimmed in a few days. The kush bagseed was topped again. Trying to get it to be as bushy as possible. Wonder Haze sprouted yesterday. Still waiting on the other WH seed and the two 3D seeds. I'm a little worried that they didn't make it, but I'll wait til next week to decide for sure. Really hoping the 3D makes it, from what my buddy told me, those seeds can't be bought anymore. If not anyone have any suggestions on clone shops in the North County area of SD. 6. Transplanted Wonder Haze seedling into 5 gal smartie.

LST using bamboo skewers. Cheese responding well. ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1402085317.208713.jpg

The rest are doing well. Being fed fish ferts at a ratio of 5-7-7. Seems like nothing needs to be done. Waiting on the 3 other seeds I tried to pop. Giving them another week til I give up. Hopefully I can get a hold of some clones this weekend. ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1402085637.678900.jpg

Have all in 5 gal smarties. Picking up 1 - 5 gal and 6 - 1 gal smarties at the hydro shop this weekend. Grabbing more NC420 soil mix again. Mixing in some FFHF soil mix and EWC. Will be amending this soil for the next grow and continue to recycle. Trellis set up, adding another triangle support system. This will help train the plants now and will be trained through a screen prior to flower.

Wonder Haze seedling(unsexed) if male, depending on pheno, I might collect pollen for future breeding.

    ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1402501651.818950.jpg
Super Lemon Haze also doing good. Really tight internodes, doing my best to tie it down before the anticipated stretch.

Kush bagseed. Not sure if it's an OG or just a kush. Can't remember correctly, seeing if it's a hermi or not.

Cheese, responding and doing well to lst. About to start letting it grow vertically, probably by next week.

Watered yesterday, still watering every other day. Almost to the point of going on a schedule soon. Peace.

  8. Picked up 2 x of GDP, Herojuana, Blackberry Kush and Black Diamond Og Kush all thanks to MrSilly. Here's the girls catching some afternoon sun. Buying 3- 5gal and 4- 3gal or 3 x 5 gal and just doubling them up in each smartie. I still have one pot which makes it 4 total. Will be picking up some more soil also.

Looking good in here.. Nice to see you got hooked up with some quality strains..

  11. Thanks SFV, definitely update sooner than I usually do lol. Great way to track my progress as it goes along. Hopefully you can get yours online too? Definitely interested to see your set up.

BNW, honestly wouldn't have these strains if it wasn't for MrSilly and his kind generosity and him opening his home to my lady and I. I'm so excited to keep on with the season and to see what these ladies have in store for me.

MrSilly, I also wanted to thank you for sharing all that knowledge with me. Proof that there's no better company to have than another avid cannabis enthusiast and grower! I'm picking up some NEEM today and also some of the sodium bicarbonate for the PM.

I'll get pictures up later on today after I get these girls TP'd into their new homes.

Gonna try to figure out how to setup a journal after work today, thanks to you sparky more work for me yay...lol I use my phone for GC so not sure how to set it all up, any ideas bro?

  13. @[member="sfvoutdoor1"], its pretty easy to set up, actually did mine on the phone app as well. Just find the right forum for you to start a thread in (indoor, outdoor, organic etc..). On the iphone app you see three dots on the upper right corner of the screen. If you tap that, a menu should pop up that says, 'subcribe, new topic, mark as read', just hit new topic and you should be good to go. I'll get some screenshots up as soon as I can a little later. Gots to get the errands done before lunch while I still have the car. haha and you know you want to show your girls off too.

  14. Here's some pics bro, hopefully it's the same UI on the droid as it is in the iPhone.

Creating a post will create your thread. And you can also share it by copying the link and adding it to your sig box. I'll get the HTML code for putting up a link with a custom name of your liking and PM you the code later.

So I was able to grab 3 more 5 gal pots, but unfortunately the shop only had 2 of the 3 gal pots. Now I have 3 of the ladies situated into the 5 gal. I need to pick up more soil and pots from the store when they restock. If they really look like they need to be TP'd then I'll settle for picking up some OFFF or OFHF and using that instead. Got to keep these ladies happy!!

From left to right, Herijuana, Black Diamond OG and the Black Berry Kush. I still have one GDP to throw into a 5 gal.
    ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1402955688.607633.jpg

The 4 remaining will be the mothers I'll be keeping on 18/6. Gradually I want to try and get these girls back to 14/8 to help try and save on electricity in the long run. Iono of that's even possible, correct me early if I'm wrong.
    ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1402955716.610250.jpg

I've tied down the 1)SLH, 2)unknown Kush, and the 3)Cheese.

The Wonder Haze is doing great. Already at it's 3rd internode. Really hoping this is a female.
    ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1402957619.264896.jpg
I figure I'll be topping after the 4th or 5th node, unsure yet if I will FIM or not. Plan is to do the same lst, super cropping and topping/FIM'n training followed with a scrog as with the others.

Currently right at my limit with 12 veg plants. With my cousin signed up in a month or so, I'll have no problem meeting the limit having two recs on hand.

I will also be getting a trellis put up at in order to add some security/privacy as the ledge is currently too low at 42". So with a 6' trellis surrounding the balcony, plenty of light should get thru while also providing some cover to help hide these ladies when they get a little older. I have already started on a little vegetable garden to also help move the eyes away from the plants. I might use cherry tomatoes as a cover to grow onto the trellis to break up the shapes inside the balcony even more.

@[member="mrsilly"] do you think the remaining girls will be ok in the solo cups til possibly next week, depending on when the shop will get their shipment. If not I'm thinking of just going with OFFF. Or should I just go with OFHF. I'm trying to decide if I should just get the soil now instead of being picky and waiting til next week.

Moving the ladies around through out the day so they catch as much sun as possible. The WH catches light first at around 0930 and by 1030 all the plants are under full sun. This lasts til around 1600 and that's when I move them around to catch more sun. By the time they flower they should be good. They get about 9-10hrs of sun total with the other 9 being ambient lighting and cfl's making it 18hrs total.

    ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1402979141.504945.jpg
Here they are back in their morning spot.

Just going to be keeping the clones well watered until I have them settled into their permanent homes. Peace
