So I've decided to make a dedicated grow journal. I've a fairly new GC member and have been growing for about 2 mos. I started with 10g of BAS soil and a 150w hps in a 2x2 tent. In a few months I've learned exponentially. I've got my owN soil mix cooking and should be ready within a month for my girls. For now I've started some tomatoes jalapeños and leaf lettuce in my own soil. I just planted a few of them last weekend so i hope my soil doesn't burn them. It's been cooking for about a month or so but the weather here just broke. To begin ill mention a few of the things that are in my soil. I'm sure it can be more simple better ingredients but I've worked with what I can get my hands on and hope I can do better the next go around. I've got enough to get me though for now but in the future I hope to use my own worm casting and simplify the mix a little more. I was a bit ambitious at the start so I put everything under the sun in my first mix. Good bad and ugly. But I've since learn that the more simple the better. And isn't that what organics is about. Simplifying life.
My set up for my tent is a 4x3 and I'm using a 400 cfm inline fan and scrubber. I'm running a 400w LED Mars2 900 and a 200 w induction Light from toppoworld.com I also have 4 23 watt 2700 cfls on each corner of the tent. I will be replacing those 4 bulbs with 4 self ballasted induction bulbs I ordered and will install as soon as they arrive. At this point I'm growing all auto-flowering seeds for now. I have quite a bit of these seeds so for now I will be running only autos. In the future I will run regular photoperiod strains but for now I like that I can stagger my seeds and be able to harvest one plant every other week. I live in a non-friendly state so I will only run a max of 4 plants for now. It's the max I can do without risking a felony. I'm not about to become a criminal for a plant. Hopefully the government changes things in the future. For now I am content with this. Any more would probably become too much to handle anyway. I run my induction on a 20/4 light cycle. And the LED I RUN ON A 18/6 cycle. I chose this as an experiment to see how it turns out. Here are a few pics of my grow stuff.

You can catch up easy. Just get a cd recording of some whistling. Makes plants 700% more X-TREME!!! Studies proved it. No I will not link them. But they exist.

So my induction bulbs just shipped! So I guess I'm going to switch these cfls for these 23 watt induction bulbs. Do you guys think they would be better than the cfls? Aren't they powerful, long lasting versions of Flouros in a hood? Supposedly cool to run (somewhat) and decent penetration though I haven't seen a model past 400 watts IIRC. If it's a choice between that or CMH for equivalent power consumption....CMH all day.

I'm more interested in knowing if they have more penetration than cfls. I've never used an hid before so I can't really tell you. But I really do put my money on these if it where against an equal power MH. Just on lifespan alone. But even more so on a lot of other things!
