Hey everyone. Long story short, sold my bio straight tube bong cause I maxed it out and it wasn't doing it for me. I tried dabbing for the first time on 420 and it instantly changed my feeling on weed. Anyways my plan is to make my ash catcher (turned into a bubbler) into a dabbing piece. I've got $80-$100 dollars to spend. Here are my questions. What kind of ti nail should I get? Do I need a male connector piece? Is my piece going to be ok for dabs? Should I scrap my idea and just buy a rig? Here is the piece.

  3. I did the same thing with my Bong. I just bought a domeless quartz glass nail just off eBay. If you want the titanium, you want a better quality than what eBay sells.

  4. If you wanted you could use the mouth piece as a dabber but I wouldn't see that as very beneficial

  5. Also would it be better to use a small piece like that or a mid sized bong like this. ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1399932666.787842.jpg I like to take huge tokes but I heard dabs are only good with small pieces. Please help as I'm new to this. Thanks.

  6.
Get a small piece.  Dabbing isn't like smoking weed, you don't fill the chamber and then pull the bowl.  You continuously pull, so the size of the hit is only dependent on the amount of oil you put on the nail, not the size of the piece.  A smaller piece is easier to pull on like this.

  7. If you have another 100 to spend then you're golden. All you need is any male domeless nail. I got my highly educated Infiniti nail for 125 shipped, so I'm sure you can buy a name brand domeless ti within your budget.

Oh shit and a torch, and a dabber

I'd go domeless quarts with a $24 propane torch from Home Depot.

  8. Great! I'll probs get a good nail. Also should I use my ash catcher (bubbler) (first picture) or buy something els? Thanks! And btw thanks for the tip I'll defs go to home depo for a torch.

  9. I would say get a name brand ti and just use your a/c until you build a personal preference, then buy whatever piece you can't live without having.

  10. That looks like a good piece for dabbing actually considering it looks like it has decent percolation to it.  Anyways, I do not know what people are talking about with quartz nails.  I think its much better to spend a few extra bucks and get a dome less titanium nail.  I have never liked glass for dabbing and find the titanium nails much more efficient and just better overall.  Just my opinion I think you should get a dome less nail.  they even have ones where you can customize the size and change it so if you do decide to get a new piece it'll likely adjust to fit.

  11. You do know quartz and glass nails are not the same thing. Glass nails suck but can you explain how a quartz nail isn't any good.

  12. Also interested in this topic. Just bought a new piece and in the process of converting it for dabs.

  13. -generally converting a piece like this is not a good idea, keep your ashtray type shit out of your dab rig

-start with quartz domeless nails for about $15

-I only use Ti for electronic dabs, if I'm torching, its quartz all day (sometimes ceramic for fun but theys fragile)
