Odd Question For Anyone From The South, Southeast (Peanuts)

Discussion in 'General' started by TimeIsMoney1, May 12, 2014.

  1. They are pretty plants actually. You need soil with very little clay if any. Sand works good, just augment with some nutrients. You could grow a plant in a bucket of sand and when they're ripe just dump it out and dry the peanuts while they're still attached to the top. Farmers have machines that dig them and stand the plants upside down with the peanuts sticking up in the air to dry. After that another machine comes and takes the peanuts off the "vine" when they're dry.

  2. Plenty of them. Though tobacco and corn are far more common in my area.
