ONE producer for the entire state? WOW.
The health commissioner even gets to decide which STRAINS of pot. (Hello, Monsanto.)

I've said it before, but these medical bills are just legal placeholders buying more time for the pharma industry.
The product is slated to be provided to patients by July 2015. However, they have built in no less than a year and half of delays thereafter right into the bill for no apparent reason. All the health commissioner has to do is say "oops, we didn't meet our first two deadlines. Our bad. Give us another 6 months."

Don't even get me started on the "compassion" that is a $200 annual fee for patients to even participate.
How many pharma drugs is there a $200 entry point before you have access?

Absolute criminal corporate conspiracy here. Just sad.

You would be a fool to support something like this. We have fought for 70 against prohibition. Why cave in now and let pass this weak bill. This is not about the patients at all. Money money money.

It's sad when people view these bills getting passed as some kind of "victory", when they do nothing at all for almost anyone.

    More politically correct garbage.

It's still a "victory" in a sense. Programs/laws were made to be changed/amended.

You know I wish people with this pessimistic attitude would just fuck off. People don't realize that with more and more states legalizing or bringing out MMJ, that's just a much better chance for federal legalization or rescheduling at the very least. Doesn't matter if a certain state's program is complete garbage or a joke, just the progression is going to do wonders in the long run.

I bet when we see 30+ states medical and 10+ legalized, we'll finally see some progress on the federal level. Call this shit before 5-6 years ago calling it again now.

Not to mention, the black market will still thrive. So if you can buy your black market pot but LEGALLY be able to carry/consume/etc.. Well that's still a fucking win in my book.

Please point out a state that has amended their mmj regulation for the better once in place ...... I will wait and let you ponder that for a bit. They don't change them for the better. Just more regulation and more enforcement. .

New Jersey is about to, as was another one I thought. Yeah I sure pondered the fuck out of that one.

Colorado as well. Getting your medical marijuana card is easier and cheaper even than when I got mine in October 2013. Those are improvements in my eyes.

I'm sorry you live in a state that is trying to go backwards. Hope Cali can get their shit together because it's a nice feeling seeing the cartels put out of business because of CA/CO primarily.

  8. Sadly, you can't see the forest from the trees. The interests that are pushing all these legal stop-gaps are the same corporations which give the feds their marching orders. Expecting the Feds to cave down the road is a fool's fantasy. They're the enforcement wing for these special interests. They do what they are told.

  9.
What makes you the know-it-all? What in your fucking right mind thinks you know EVERYTHING in this section? Give it a fucking rest. Instead of sounding like a lunatic conspiracy spreading moron who likes to him hear himself talk, put some actual thought and maybe evidence as well in your posts?

If you seriously don't think the federal government will eventually have no choice but to reschedule/legalize/decriminalize etc. Then you're the one that's living in a fucking fool's fantasy.

  10. Lol

One producer, limited qualifying conditions and a patient can only get it in oil/pill form?

Not quite sure how any rational minded person sees this as a good thing. Are they even going to allow caregivers and dispensaries into the market or go straight to pharmacy?

    Flic your bic:

When the Co mmj program began it was very robust, and over time it has been restricted- not expanded. The continued (over regulation) has led to harassment of our locally owned access points, caregiver plant counts etc. The biggest thing to note is that our mmj program began as a full Monty, it did not expand into it by any means.
IMO it is not accurate to compare our program to this MN bill. They are not starting with anything except a program clearly drafted by law enforcement and private interests- that is also outlined in the article sourced in the OP.

My concern is primarily for the patients, as I'm a cancer survivor myself. Secondly it's to local access and local economy. Barring distributors and caregivers from the market robs local citizens and their communities millions of dollars in revenues which will now go straight to the pharma complex.
I'm glad you enjoy our mmj program here but if anything, it's only what it is because it started as so much of a robust program.

The MN bill is unethical, does not serve the people, is laden with private interest and sets terrible precedent. IMO it is irresponsible to support something of that nature.

  11. Agreed. But the thing is, all these states who are considering mmj, have seen California's program turn in to defacto legalization for recreational, therefore, are WAY overregulating these new bills and quite frankly, I don't expect them to become less restrictive, unfortunately.

  12. I started on this site some 5+ years ago concentrating on access here in my home state. This topic of mmj in MN is how it all began for me, and if there is ANY topic I am fully prepared to discuss at length and fully informed, it is the battle front in MN. So step off. Read the response to your post by another member here who at least "gets it."

Some people are fucking SMART. I'm one of them. Sorry it offends anyone. (Actually, no, I am not...)

  13.

you can't argue with conspiracy theorist...no point to it...they don't have to provide proof, and all they have to do to dismiss the nonbelievers is claim they are smarter then everyone else.

Use your ignore list. let the conspiracy nuts have their fun.

  14. I've been asking YOU, greenwizard, and wellhighdrated for any example or analysis which proves any of these bills you support are coming from a trustworthy source and not a special interest funnel. To date, I might bring to your attention, not one of you has provided ONE example as to why we should be supporting these bills. NOT ONE. Instead, you follow me about and just comment on my posts. Again, there must be a helluva lot of truth to what I'm saying to have such a devout following trying to invalidate me and not much else.
So until one of you can provide something, anything, which shows us why we SHOULD be supporting these proposed laws, just button it. You all have proven time and again you haven't a thing to say in response. And to take me to task in my own back yard? On an issue this close to home for me? Lotta nerve. A LOT of nerve.

Read this law. No "conspiracy" needed. Its right there in front of you. A total special interest funnel. This is about as good an example why I do NOT lend my support to these initiatives as you'll get. Still its not a poignant enough example for some? Well horses, here's the water. You can thirst to death for all I care.

  15. It's progress. Lol. Who cares where it's going it must be forward.

  16. Oh you damn conspiracy theorists with your pesky laws that are right in front of people to read and interpret. Always trying to work in the light of day to pull the wool over peoples' eyes. When will you be done with your evil ways? LOL!

  17.
    Hahahahahahahahaha, good one!

  18. agreed 100%!! Its a start its a start!! Thats the biggest line i see everywhere!!! Its no dam start!! Its a continued stall.
But more states are seeing the light!!! Their seeing the tax money!!! Well hell yeah their seeing the money. As well as the, once again, select few special interest groups. The lights still on dim as far as everyday Joe goes.
Well one day their going to hsve to just make it legal, you'll see, one day....
Ayuh, one day. Well, slowly that one day is now here. Your gonna get your legal, dont even start the whining when it happens. You wanted it, you got.
Its just going to continue by their rules, and your still not going to like it.
No conspiracy theory needed. History always repeating itself is proof enough.
Prohibition came about because of lies and money.
Legalization will be a result of lies and money. A historical deja vue, whether you like it or not.

  19. everything comes from the "special interest funnel" and goes out that same funnel.
the entire fractional reserve system and capitalism in general is based on that "funnel".

    so what?
