Florida Mmj Bad??

Discussion in 'Marijuana News' started by canezcrazy96, May 8, 2014.

  1. Do you guys like this Florida mmj law? Idk how I feel about it because I read that there's no age restrictions on it, and as much as I love pot I don't want it to be legal for a 12 year old to smoke it. I know some kids may need it but I also hear the circumstances that you can get it are extremely relaxed

wow...so in your opinion kids should not get medical care unless it is from a big pharmaceutical company, did you know there is no age restriction on what a doctor can prescribe to ANYONE...and then you imply that kids would be walking around with medical marijuana smoking in public because kids are handed their prescriptions all the time to manage themselves, seeing how little kids are so good about being responsible..ya...your 'thoughts' are sounding pretty stupid on that...

why did you come to gc at all?? was it just to post anti mmj hyperbole that reeks of PROPAGANDA?

  3. wow man chill out, I just wanted to see how y'all felt because I felt like maybe there was a way for underage people like freshman in high school to abuse it like ADHD medication so I wanted to see the general opinion on it or if I was missing something just relax dang

  4. Ya no need to be such a jerk. OP presented a topic of discussion in a mature manner and did not deserve to be blasted like that. I understand where OP is coming from. There is still spectulation as to the effects cannabis has on the growimg brains of young children. I am totally for cannabis legalization but we still need to recognize it as being a drug that has effects on our body. Obviously we all know its far less dangerous then alcohol caffeine and most prescription drugs. We just need to go about this in a reasonable way instead of "WEED DOESNT DO ANYTHING BAD! EVERYONE NEEDS TO SMOKE!". We need to understand moderation is great discipline to posses and will allows us to enjoy things with minor to no health effects. Anything you ABUSE will hurt your body and could lead to major health problems. I just can't stand immature people when it comes to discussing important topics. Its like watching Nancy Grace talk over someone as they are trying to make a valid point backed by facts. And honesty with cannabis legalization right around the corner we need to discuss how cannabis is perceived by our children. We need to create a mature way of explaining what it is and how it effects our minds and bodies like alcohol. No matter what its still a drug and needs to be treated as such. I have a daughter and the last thing I want is seeing her more concerned with smoking weed then finding a career. Get a grip. Would you really let your young child smoke weed at age 12?! There are far more important matters to attend to then that. *steps off soap box*

  5. 12 yr old to smoke it?   wow. is this how u think the kids are going to take mmj? no bro

  6. The criticism on the question is just. I guess you didn't know under 18 a kid has to go through his parents to get a doctor to sign off and no dispensary serves kids without a parent so the whole question is flawed

Yes kids should get pot for medical reasons why the fuck not

Hon, why should children be denied access to medical cannabis? First off, children do not smoke their medical cannabis, they are given it as an oil, or in an edible. No one in their right mind would suggest that children smoke anything!

Secondly, these epileptic children are DYING from their epilepsy, and also the side effects of the dangerous pharmaceutical drugs that the doctors give them. So how effective is this safe herbal medicine? READ THIS!

"Report of a parent survey of cannabidiol-enriched cannabis use in pediatric treatment-resistant epilepsy” (Science Direct - 2013) from the abstract - "Sixteen (84%) of the 19 parents reported a reduction in their child's seizure frequency while taking cannabidiol-enriched cannabis. Of these, two (11%) reported complete seizure freedom, eight (42%) reported a greater than 80% reduction in seizure frequency, and six (32%) reported a 25–60% seizure reduction. Other beneficial effects included increased alertness, better mood, and improved sleep."

Why on earth would you want these children to continue using the ineffective pharmaceuticals when cannabis extract brings an 80% or more relief from seizures in over half of the children. Even with the pharmaceuticals, some of these poor children continue to have 100s of seizures per week! Every seizure brings the risk of death for the child! Cannabis extract gives them a chance to live!

How would YOU feel if your sick child was denied access to something that could improve their life by 80% or more? A medicine that you could grow in your back yard, or a spare closet, for pennies a dose? A medicine that, unlike common aspirin, has NEVER cause a single overdose death?

I want to know WHY you feel that allowing a child to continue on ineffective, side effect-laden pharmaceutical drugs when a natural, herbal medicine is FAR more effective and much safer!  I look forward to your answer!

  16. I feel like I might of went a little.far. I was just thinkin about my daughter and got all worked up. You guys are right tho, if she was in that much pain and truly needed it then sure. I just feel in general that doctors over prescribe. If it was a life threatening disease I understand. Depression on the other hand..... no.

  17. Obviously a 12 year old wont be able to walk into an office and get a prescription.  I am sure that their legal guardian will have some say.  Some kids will better their lives with this.  Regardless though kids will be kids, some will smoke if they choose.  Its much better then alcohol is it not?  And that's illegal for teens to consume, but they still do it.

don't forget too that cannabis helps the kid's appetite and will aid in nourishment and nutrient uptake once seizures subside and the kid can feel hungry.

unless those doctors have synthetic cannabis on the shelves that costs trillions to the sick people don't expect them to over prescribe cannabis. something that grows freely is not recommended by many doctors. WTH are you talking about no for depression, that is life threatening in sever cases. until people realize the scope of medication available in cannabis there will be impossible scenarios ( healing miracles) popping up around this plant

  19. OP sounds young. If not young, then troll.

  20. do ppl honestly think the kids getting mmj are smoking it.? da fuq.?! these are the ppl too closed minded to listen to the truths..
