Has Anyone Used Weed As A Spiritual Tool?

Discussion in 'Religion, Beliefs and Spirituality' started by mossybong, May 6, 2014.

  1. Weed for me is a fun way to pass time but it's also like a spiritual key. I have opened my mind to new concepts and possibilities. I was raised Christian but have now turned to more of an agnostic view. I just find myself wondering weird stuff like, 'is god possibly a woman or motherly like entity? ' or 'is god above all gender and conception?' It just makes me feel like we have religion all wrong, like we're missing something.

The most convincing experience I've had was when I hiked a hill, lit a bowl, and faced the sun with my eyes closed. I felt warmth and love. That love wasn't everyday love, it felt like a blissful and intense love. It was everything I could do to hold back tears but I eventually just let it go. I cried tears of joy as the universe acknowledged my existence. I never wanted to leave that moment. Since that day, I believe that weed has the potential the be a spiritual key or guide.

I've also have come to terms with my faults and vices. It feels as though I better understand my negative qualities and try to bring out the more positive ones.

Just curious to see other opinions about this. Thanks for hearing me out.

These are normal questions to ask yourself. It never really ends. Your perception changes the more you think about it.  I would think it's less likely the weed was the cause of your acknowledged existence by the universe, but being a little high might of got you there quicker. Not sure if that makes complete sense.

  3. I get what you're saying and it makes sense.

  5. I think it's bigger than just the weed. It's mostly you. I am going through a similar spiritual experience. But in my case, my belief in God is being reinforced. I realize that I am a Christian today because I met God while I was a Christian. This means that I met him through Christ. I also realize that God will always reveal himself to us through a variety of ways. RelIgion and faith are man's way of trying to connect with God.Your experience of the warmth of the sun on your face while you were high on a mountain, I think that was God, he acknowledges you when you acknowledge him. Weed is a very good factor.

  6. Hi there first time posting anything in here so but your post got my attention. Anyway I am a practicing pagan/wiccan so I do a lot of meditation and things like that and find that smoking a little not getting messed up because you have to have control in meditations or they can go very bad but smoking a little relaxes me and makes the experience a much better much stronger one.
    Just my opinion.

  7. I don't really care for the word spiritual anymore. I still use weed in the way you describe though, finding oneness, meditation, etc, but after all the introspection I now consider myself an atheist. I think the intense feeling of love/joy/acceptance is just a silencing of the ego. When you let go of stuff and truly exist in the present moment those feelings start to flow through you and the joy swells into tears.

I love toking amongst nature, and weed is like a mirror that shows me a view of my thoughts I might not have considered before. I definitely think it has helped me grow as a person.

  8.
it's weed, but it's also you.

while questioning you didn't get  scared to step off the "safe path".. a lot people get freaked out, when the shit they've been suppressing so hard comes to surface. for some it might be harder than others, much harder. "devil's weed".

  9. Ive used it for meditation recently and it defiantly helps clear my mind.

  10. I use it when I meditate it not only helps block the pain I'm in it makes the actual meditation better because I'm more able to relax. I just don't take it too far, getting too messed up is bad makes a meditation go bad sometimes. But used controlled Natural medicine exists for a reason after all and can make for some AWESOME EXPERIENCES. Have fun be Safe.

  11. I agree with those who have said not to get too messed up, it distorts the meditation. Finding that center is kind of the goal with this. Well highdrated, I liked the point you made. With that experience I just didn't feel fear what so ever, a little bit opposite of my normal self.

  12. Weed helped me find god

  13. I like to get high before I meditate or think about shit. It hasn't "opened my mind" or any of that nonsense; it just helps me focus.

  14. I have read that weed makes more of your neurons fire at one time than is normal.
I mean, that would be the very embodiment of expansion, wouldn't it?
Anyway, I have thought the same thing for a long time.

Here is the way of it: We experience something when we are high that we do not experience when we are not high.
If we are experiencing it, then it is as real as anything else we experience.
Normally, we experience one thing. When we are high, we experience another thing.
    That's two things.
It's a different reality, and it's as real as you can imagine it being.
So, really imagine it, and we'll see what happens next.

Of course, I could be wrong.
We might just be smoking ourselves psychotic, experiencing hallucinations, and slowly turning our lungs into dry leather sacks.
(almost brings tears to my eyes.)

  15. Check out Cantheism. It is a religion worshiping cannabis. It can be incorporated into any religion.
