  1. so i recently bought dbv vaporizer and i'm not sure i'm using it to its fullest potential. i fill the wand about 1/4 to 1/2 and then start with the knob at 12oclock. i start taking long slow drags and no vapor comes out (good lighting). i slowly turn the knob to between 12-1 o clock and do the same thing. no vapor. tried 1 o clock, im starting to get a LITTLE visible vapor. so i stay on that setting while mixing it every 5 hits or so. eventually, after around 10-15 hits, it becomes light brown. BUT, im not high at all. i dont feel anything. (even after waiting about a hour or so)

i try vaping again the next day but with a higher temp setting

so i load a new bowl and change the setting to between 1-2 o clock. finally getting decent clouds BUT the bowl gets cashed in less than 10 hits. i get high though.

my question is, how are people getting so many hits off their dbv (some ppl say 20+ hits) and they would get high but when i try to get 15+ hits off mine, i dont even get high. also, another question i have is why don't i get "higher and higher?" i would smoke bowls after bowls and i would feel the same "high" the whole time.

  2. The amount of hits you get depends on the material you are using, the temp you vape at, and the size of your hits. There is no arbitrary number amount of hits that you should be getting.

  3. I luv mine. They are not calibrated so every one is different. You set it up. here is a letter i wrote earlier about my experiance:
You will see all sorts of ways folks use DB. I like low and slow. Find your sweet spot that gives good vapor. Mark that spot with magic marker. Yank button off and set mark straight up at the 12 o  clock position. Start your sessions at 11.  Give it a relatively quick WA WA suck, sort of like pulling on milkshake straw. Each suck clears chamber and allows new vapor to form. Don't pull as deep as you can but hold it longer. I stir bowl in between each hit and use the time to count to 10 for timing my hit. Let it out slow and enjoy. You don't have to take another hit till you are ready. After 4 or 5 hits turn knob to 12. When bowl is filled with twigs because you melted the flesh of the bones you know you are doing good. A couple of final hits at 1 and you will notice the "popcorn taste or smell". Bowl is cached. You should never have black. If too dark don't save, but pull quicker. Slower pull means chamber doesn't clear and you get combustion. Takes me about 40 minutes to kill a bowl.
You need to get a jar that seals to save your duff. (ABV or used material) to save for cooking, firecrackers, tincture or hash.
\nI see dudes with bongs creating huge clouds but they exhale them quickly and are only painting the air. (IMHO) I like the low & slow way and the only clouds are the one I exhale and they are usually pretty faint because I consumed the meds instead of blowing them in the wind..

I don't usually change the heat with the knob because of my understanding of how fast you draw equals how cool the hit will be. The slower you draw, the hotter the air is going to be when it hits your herbs. So if I want a cooler hit, I'll draw a bit faster. When I'm finishing it, I'll go as slow as I can go.

  5. Draw is (IMHO) the fine tuning in to the heat that you want. The temp of the core determines a quick blast or a slow roast. YMMV It is different for everyone.

    OP,

I got a DB a couple years ago…It's alright. It works as good (or better) than my neighbor's Volcano (in several people's opinion)….I think the DB is actually one of the best vapes out there….but….vapor is….meh….It doesn't get me nearly as high as smoke. I'd rather smoke a little and get higher than fuck than I would to vaporize flowers and get….well…not as high. I've run the gambit of temperatures -from nothing to so hot that the wand-load actually started burning! So…nope…vapor doesn't do it for me. My wife loves vaping, though! So, it's not been a total waste of money for me, at least!

But not all vapor is created equal! IF you want a serious vapor hit, then switch to concentrates and do dabs….but only if you can get lab-quality concentrates and not some high school kid's backyard project! :)

  7. Tsick, Sorry to hear your report. You are getting good quality meds?Different strains react differently. I was growing a strain and thought it was all that and a bag of chips until I tried some local "meds". Changed strains and all is good. The original Purple I was growing just was not a steamer. Bubba Kush on the other hand.....

  8. I've had the DBV for a while and hardly ever used it because I didn't really know what I was doing and the vapor was way too hot on my throat. I also didn't smoke that often either. I tried a water bong and loved it. Then I learned you could hook the whip to the bong. What a huge difference! I could get much larger clouds and much better results. I started with a Faberge Egg Recycler bong and then tried a single honeycomb perc ice bong. (both purchased here.) Both work great. The ice cools it to the point of very little to no cough. The switch to medicinal weed happened at the same time, so my mind is blown.

Don't pay too much attention to what other people are getting out of their vapes, for example I am usually done with a load after four draws. Suggestion to consider, vary the coarseness of the grind, stir the load often, try different draw rates and heat soak the load before starting a draw. Good Luck
