So i decided to start a grow journal in hopes that a few of you experienced people can help before things go wrong. So i recently ordered some seeds from marijuanaseeds.nl came within 6 days. Got 10 THC Bomb. Started out with trying to germinate 4 of them. 2 have popped already. I will post a pic shortly. So far the weather has been pretty nice here so I am growing in my backyard….thank you Colorado voters!!! I've been keeping them outside in the day and under a CFL at night. They are in Fox Farm Ocean soil with about 30%-40% perlite. Some say that FFO is too hot, others say it will be fine. When I water them I use distilled water because of the pH level. Hopefully this grow goes good. I recently put another 3 seeds in in hopes that they will germinate. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. I'll keep y'all posted.
So this is about 2 1/2 weeks. Unfortunately the weather has been pretty shitty lately, so I've had them indoors the last couple days. Hopefully it gets nicer soon Sent from my SM-G900V using Grasscity Forum mobile app
So here we are at 3 weeks. Seems to be doing ok. Can anybody suggest when I should transplant to a bigger pot? Also, when is it OK to start giving nutes? Sent from my SM-G900V using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Hi! I'm on my first grow too. I've done some research and I think it's best to wait until you see a bit of yellowing on the leaves to start giving nutes. Basically, let the leaves tell you when the plant needs some feeding. Maybe it's just the picture but some of the tips of the leaves look a bit yellow, so maybe you should start giving them nutrients. You can transplant it when you start to see that the roots are sticking out the bottom but in my opinion waiting that long isn't the best way. Transplant it whenever you feel it is too big for the container. Good luck.
Yes there is some yellowing on the leaves. Most people that I have talked to have said it's possible that the soil i am using, FFO, is too hot at this point.
I would start giving it nutes. What kind of nutes you got? I use the Flora series from General Hydroponics and the bottles have a table which tells you how many nutes you should use at each stage in the plant's life. Check this guide out: http://forum.grasscity.com/absolute-beginners/422249-nutrients-absolute-beginners.html
Ok everyone, need some help deciding on nutes. What is a good brand? I've been checking out out fox fans, but would also like some opinions on other brands. What has your experience been? Also, what should the nutrient rates be as far as the nitrogen, potassium, phosphorus? Thanks for any info
if you get trio line of nutes, just follow feeding recommendations on the bottles, just at 1/4 the recommended strength. i have used General Hydroponics Grow, Micro, Bloom up to this point and have been satisfied with the results. no additives or anything as of yet. just keeping it simple for now. i plan to try the Fox Farm trio next time, but have also heard good things about Botanicare. jm$.02
Ok so I'm going out to get nutes, and pots today. I'm going with the smart pots. But my question is do I get a 1 gallon pot then switch to a bigger one later, or just throw them in a 10 gallon? Sent from my SM-G900V using Grasscity Forum mobile app
These are the nutes I use http://generalhydroponics.com/site/index.php/products/nutrients/flora_series/ They come with a feeding table which tells you how much of each bottle you should give to your plant in each stage of growth. Start in your 1 gallon pots and when the plants get bigger just transplant them to their final pots. How are your plants looking?
I put it in a 1 gallon SmartPots container with FFO and about 20-25% perlite. I also bought some fox farms grow big. Since the soil is already pretty rich in nutrients, should I hold off on adding the Grow Big? Sent from my SM-G900V using Grasscity Forum mobile app
