Superbox Growing Journal

  1. Hi Guys,

I just purchased today the superbox from Supercloset. I ordered the Nirvana Seeds Bubblelicious autoflowring as my first strain. I will posting more eventually when I get everything.

The Superbox is perfect for my apartment, but it is only 30" high, thus I am looked in to short plants.

I got the Nirvana from Attitude since many out there recommended them.

However, I am looking for a short Sativa plant, mostly Sativa since I prefer energetic high. Can anyone recommend any seeds that could fit my Superbox not more than 25" top?

I will posting my progress here if any have any comments.

  2. Are you looking to do photoperiod or autoflower? If autoflowers look at the lowryder strains they stay pretty short :)

  3. short sativa? No you have to train to do that. think about SCROG.

The screen will keep your canopy full ,uniform and where you want it.

  4. Subbed, I hope it goes well.  I'll be glad to follow your progress.

  5. Thank you all.

Since this is my first strain, I am looking to do auto since it's easier. However, I could do photoperiod with my Superbox. Thinking on doing 18/6 throughout with a 2 day dark

I also ordered Auto Seeds Berry Ryder

I will most likely do some LST and SGROG fro sure with the Berry Ryder.

I am planning on doing 2 of each or 3 of each.  Is that too much for the space 18X24X30

  6. Man, Snoop. I love your journal man. You got so much shit going on. I am still in page 6 looking at your aquaponic.

It doesn't look like you will be needing any SCROG or LST with your grow room...lol

    Awesome!

  7. A quick update:

Waiting for the seeds and superbox to deliver. It looks like I am moving since I just got an offer on the condo.

I am also now planning to have a second room for flowering and just use the superbox for cloning and veg.

I am looking to get 2x2x4 Gorilla tent...this will allow taller plants to grow.

    I am very excited!!!!

Stay tuned as this may not start until June.

    Thanks,

  8. If you are planning to buy a tent get the tallest you can. The more height you have the easier it Wii be. Flowering in a 30" box for me would be a nightmare. But it can certainly be done if that is all you had. I have done countless grows with 4' of height but it's no picnic, you really do have to plan ahead. I have 6' of height now and it massively easier.

You mentioned autos are easier, I would say they are much harder. For beginners I always recommend a photoperiod sensitive plant first because if you have any cock ups you can just veg longer to make up for them. Autos don't give you that luxury and making mistakes while it's vegging can ruin the whole grow and you won't be able to do much about it.

That is a hell of a lot of CFL wattage. Are you sure they are 100w CFLs? I have 3x 125w CFLs in my veg tent and it lights up a 3' x 4' area quite nicely

  10. So, it has been 5 days since my seeds have sprouted. Below are a few pics:

One of them seems to have some yellow spots and the other totally brown left leaf???!!!

The good one was the first to come out, I guess she has some pretty good genes!

  12. Guys, I am curious if I should put these babies in the net cups now under a lie ppm of 200.

    To early?

  13. Goldgrower, any input on my little babies would be much appreciated!

  14. I personally would have put the germinating seeds in to clay balls in the net pots so you can have them running in the system straight away. Because you are using rockwool you may be better off waiting for roots to come through first if you don't mind watering that often. You can put it in your system but if your rockwool touches the water is will become waterlogged and the roots will likely suffocate. It's a tough decision and the answer depends on how you are planning to make sure the rockwool doesn't get too wet or too dry. Next time use clay balls and you won't have any problems, you can't get those too wet so you have the water line as high as you want

  15. Awesome, thank you goldgrower. I will most likely do that next. Any input on the yellow leafs?

Most likely lack of oxygen to the roots, you may have the rockwool too wet. Getting the balance right on such a small cube is very hard so I wouldn't worry too much until you get it in to your system. How's that other plant? The one in the last photo, it looks like it's struggling for life. I get the odd seedling like that sometimes, it's probably just weak genes

  17. Yeah, it's so odd. One leaf is still green, but it actually just laid flat this morning. I spayed the Rockwell today again. 2 out of 3 are struggling when the one is tall and strong

  18. Do you see any roots yet? Will you be using clay balls to support the cubes in the net pots? Or more rockwool?

  19. I will be using clay balls. I just sent home to take a look and good some more pictures. I will post shortly when I get to work.

One leaf is really turning dry Brown

  20. Here are the pics. My strong plant has some minimal color issues, but the other one is major!!!

    Any idea?!!

It can't be any sort of nutritional deficiency at such an early stage though?!!
