So after I made a thread about two months ago I decided I was going to purchase an Illidelph. I went to my local head shop, copped a 20 inch straight rasta label, and fell in love. I gave it to my brother to hang onto while I went back to school and now the entire thing is shattered. I'm looking to replace it, and despite having loved the Illi, I have a slightly larger budget, so I'm looking into other glass. My Question is, Does Medicali quality compare to Illidelph Quality? ALSO, is "Hella Wicked a reliable site to buy glass? my roomate has this piece but its a beaker bottom. he's had it for years and he still loves it. I also had a medicali wayyy back in the day, it broke. The whole tree broke off inside the piece.. Is medical comparable to illi, id say so. Tree percs are somewhat frail by nature tho and that will be one of the weak points. In that thread you mentioned "toro vs medicali" we established that medicalis trees aren't the best, but I know they aren't the worst. For instance my other roommate has an hbg, and the trees on that aren't reinforced at all, while the medicali has some reinforcement. Did your illi have a tree perc or was it just a straight tube?
if you want heavy duty glass, check out us tubes....wow they got some thick, fat ass glass, it might be thicker than both medicali and toro.
I'd prollt go with medicali and I'm from Philly. Lol I think illi is overpriced to begin with. I've shopped most all name brands. I like manifest glassworks the best for price. I personally believe noone comes close. I have double showerhead straight and a single worked beaker. Both around 400 each. Its like youre breathing in air. I wouldn't say they're the same quality, but they are very similar. You're mostly paying for small details, illadelphs are flawless when it comes to glass quality. Medicali's don't have many flaws if any, but one of the only flaws with an illadelph is the price.. If i was you id go with a scientific stemless piece, but then again everyone has a preference
The blowers from Medicali have upped their game for sure...pieces sit perfectly even and there's no weird bumps or anything..completely flush glass. Their tree percs are still old school but I really like them personally Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
the trees have changed, im not sure when the change occured, but i compared the "older" and the "newer" styles of trees and this is what i found. the old the new some obvious differences the old has an X shaped hole on the bottom of the trees the old has 3 horizontal slits the old has some lateral reinforcement the new has completely open bottoms the new has 2 horizontal slits the new has no lateral reinforcement ill leave you to draw your own conclusions. hey taz, i like your new avatar btw
Does anyone know much about US Tubes? Their site is under construction and I want to kmow their authorized dealers so I can check them out in person. I'd also like to see where they can be bought online
