Is Smoking Out Of An Apple Pipe A Waste Of Jane?

    I think joints are a bigger waste of herb than an apple! To me your best bet is a water bong even if it's a fucking gatorade bottle! You get smoother and longer hits! The only advantage to an apple is you can eat it!!!

    no way, waste has got to be the same as a normal pipe, if it's made right.  love apple pipes, great toking tool

    not a waste unless u make it wrong. once i didnt make the holes right and i burned my weed and didnt even get high that much. but then the other day i made the holes bigger and different and i got soooooooooooo high. i was a goner.

    a common mistake I see noobs and oldtimers make...they cut out a bowl...
     
    the spot with the stem...it IS the bowl..it is a natural one hitter...don't remove the skin there, just poke a small hole through to the hole you core out for the mouth parts 'stem'
     
    ...the skin will keep the bud from getting all wet from apple juices.

    I always carved my own bowl on apple pipes, then again i never made the bowl where the stem is either

    Ah, the good old apple pipe. First time I got high (smoked a gram by myself - oops!) I smoked through an apple pipe. It is a bit messy, but then again, you can eat the evidence afterwards and it provides a fresh, juicy, immediate after-smoke snack. Wouldn't say it's a waste. Like most other pipes, really. True, you can make it in such a way that it is harder to take a proper drag, but experiment with it and find the sweet spot for you. I think it gives the smoke a nice little apple taste/smell, even if it is a placebo. ;)

    No. Apple pipes are great. Just make sure you don't accidentally suck in ash.

    So long as the apple pipe has been made properly and the smoker doesn't mind the temperature of the hit, it works just fine and is equally effective to a normal pipe. I like to use a green apple :p

    This brings back so many memories, this is what I smoked out of the for the first time. I always used a metal socket for the bowl so I could get bigger hits, and not once has a nice apple pipe failed to deliver.
