Real Money Online Poker

Discussion in 'All Sports' started by Jaygrass, Apr 23, 2014.

  1. I've been playing poker for most of my life. Made a few bucks playing in cash games in casinos. Now I'm considering moving to NJ where online poker is legal within the state.

I want to pursue this as a profession and online seems the way to go. You can play more hands because dealing and acting is faster and play at more than one table at a time.

I am just wondering if anyone has experience playing online for real money.

  2. Bro, I live in NJ. I would highly, yet again HIGHLY reconsider that.

If you smoke weed, new jersey is one of the worst states to live in right now.

  3. Didn't even think of the bud situation there.

Playing online poker is fuckloads difference to playing in real. I for one do alot better when I can read players and watch how they play which is alot more difficult in online.

Online is kind of sketchy as well man. You cant really be sure that algorithms are completly legit because of the complexity of the programing. Those sites are there to make money. Ive played really well online winning alot but sitting down at a table to face opponents cant be beat.

  5. Yo whats up OP. I play online poker pretty seriously at microstakes on Poker Stars.

Ive played for a few years and ill tell you something, it aint easy.

Im a winner at $100nl cash games but I cashed out my bankroll a while a go and bought some stuff for myself and have been rebuilding it for a while now.

Ill give you some tips I wish I had when I started, and only coz this is GC and your a fellow blade.

    1. Nobody likes folding, so dont try to bluff too much.

    2. Dont call with weak hands much because most people are passive and dont bluff much themselves and if they are agressive you will know within a short time of playing them.

    3. Get a HUD (Heads Up Display) that tracks opponents and givea stats on their play style. Its useful for keeping track of results, analysing hands and reviewing your game and other players games.

    4. Poker is a very mental orientated game. People think its about making sick reads and agression etc. but having a good mental game is critical for success. Check out a book called Mental Game of Poker. Its basically sports pyschology for poker and will make a huge impact on your poker skill, trust me.

  7. Currently only Nevada, New Jersey and Delaware have licensed online poker for real money. New Jersey currently has the stronger market and most serious players in Nevada are in Las Vegas and they haven't taken to online grinding. The elephant in the room is California - it's a matter of when, not if. But the tribes in California have to agree on terms first and that's a whole other conversation.

  8. that goes both ways, you could very well lose money much faster than in person
