Advice On Medical Marijuana In California For A Brit

  1. Hi,

I'm fortunate enough to be spending 2 months in California to visit some friends, will be leaving in a couple of weeks.

My question - I am from the UK so will I be able to get a medical marijuana card with a British passport? I won't be working while Im there but I will be renting a place.

    Many thans

    no!

you have to be a resident of the state, not a visitor

  3. This.  WHy do so many people think they can get a medical card while visiting CA??  I don't get it. :confused_2:

Maybe because there is nothing in CA law preventing a non-resident from getting a recommendation.

The closest the laws come to stating that they are limited in application to CA residents is this from Prop 215:

However this does not explicitly prohibit non CA residents from being protected by the CUA.

The bigger obstacles to a non-resident are those who believe it is not legal to issue them a recommendation (which it is), and those who will not allow them access to medicine because they don't have a valid CA identification.

Given the state of MMJ laws in CA I actually can't blame people for turning non-residents away from dispensaries or MMJ evaluation clinics...too risky and too much of a "grey area".

  5. just buy from dealers, don't smoke in public and you'll be fine

  6. Op youre lucky man, think of me in the rain when youre in the sun.

Good luck with getting your weed out there, maybe one of our cali blades will hook you up.
