Notifications Wtf?

Discussion in 'Pandora's Box' started by travilanche, Apr 21, 2014.

  1. So WTF is up with the notifications system? Sometimes it works perfectly fine. But then sometimes it tells me I have notifications and when I click on it, instead of giving me a list of notifications it just shows a blank, thin white bar. And it doesn't matter if I am mobile or on my desktop...it does the same thing. WTFuck grasscity?!

This happens several days every week. And it has been happening for several months. It is happening right now! Fix this! It is getting old as fuck!

  2. Shit happens to me all the time. I just refresh the page a lot and if it still doesn't work I right click on the notifications and click open in new tab and it works.

  3. This never works for me for some reason. Tried it many times!

  4. I am having the same problem.

  5. Last 2 days mine have been fucked but today they are working again.

can you send us a video of this behavior, also what browser and what platform (Windows, Mac, Linux etc) you are using

We cannot replicate the faulty behavior, so it would be a great help if you can show us the exact issue.

    thx

  9. Can't really post an example at the moment because it is working properly. But when it doesn't work it doesn't matter whether or not I am on mobile or windows desktop, either on chrome or Firefox, I click on notifications and it just shows a thin, blank white bar. Sometimes this goes on for days.

  10. have you reloaded the page (maybe obvious question, but I need to ask)

  11. Yeah I have done that. It never works though. Whenever it happens it happens with all browsers and devices. It is working fine right now, but the next time it happens I will take a picture and post it in here so that you can see what it looks like.

I'm using Mozilla Firefox on a desktop running Windows 7 64 bit. Right now it's working for me but it goes on and off. When it isn't the white box pops up but their isn't any notifications the only way to get to my notifications is by right clicking and opening a new tab or window.

This happens to me periodically too, reloading doesn't help. It tends to just fix itself within a few hours for me.

I'll try to take a vid next time it happens.

@travilanche: in the meantime, you can right click on the Notifications link and open it in a new window.

I'm on Windows 7, using Chrome for the record.

This time the problem fixed itself within about 40 minutes, sometimes it can be a couple hours or more.

  16. My notifications are fucked up too, it tells me I have like 400+ when I only have 1. :ÃŽ

Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum

  17. No problems using Opera 20 windows 7

  18. i have notification problems on and off and they seem to right themselves ... eventually.

  19. Well, when I saw this, I was going to move it to the tech section, but since SJ is already on it I guess I'll leave it here...

    I'm using FF28.0 on Win8.1 and I haven't seen a problem myself...haven't seen it on iOS 7.1 using Mercury 8.4.1 either...:confused_2:

Anyone else out there having problems? Try leaving your software info here...more input can only help tech support track this down...

  20. Randomly occurs and then is ok again. It can happen and two minutes later it's ok.

IE 9 (work) and Win 7. :smoke:
