What To Wear In Hot, Humid Climate For Comfort?

  1. I got a job in southern China for the upcomming summer. I'm excited to go, and I know this will be a great experience. I speak fluent Chinese, and I'll only get better while I'm over there.

But the building im working in does not have air conditioning, and I know that it will be hot and humid there all summer. I don't know what to wear to deal with this. I am from a hot climate, but from the desert, not almost jungle/swamp like this place is.

I've been in humid, hot places before, but never for long. I know they are bad, but I don't know how to make it better, or even just to make it less bad. Or what to do/wear to avoid appearing super sweaty and gross all the time.

  2. Daisy dukes and a pink wife beater.

  3. nothing :ey:  let your new coworkers enjoy the view

  4. Cmon guys, really?

Anybody live in Florida or something and know how to deal with hot humid weather?

  5. I live in Missouri. It's pretty humid in the summer and honestly we just wear normal summer clothes and deal with it.

I suppose you could take cold showers in the morning, keep some ice water at hand and pour it all over yourself when you get hot

I tried but really we just deal and accept the everlasting swamp ass

  6. Florida here.
Shorts and a wifebeater or tank. Seriously, sleeves makes THE biggest difference. It's key. Flip flops also make a huge difference too, so if you can wear 'em, do it. But more important is the sleeveless shirt, preferably made of cotton.

Good luck and dope about speaking Chinese!

  7. I live in the tropics. Wear cotton, light fabrics, avoid heavy colors.

That's about all you can do but to sweat it out. You'll acclimatize quickly though. I came here from England and you'll catch your breath after a couple weeks. Take it easy in the beginning and avoid air conditioning as much as you can. It's hard for the body to adjust when you're constantly plunging it into cold temperatures.

  8. Oh, avoiding AC isn't really an option. There's no AC at the plant, and I have to pay to use it where I'll be living.

  9. Wear natural fibers. I like cotton, no polyester.

  10. For sure a Hawaiian shirt, some shades. You ever seen someone unhappy in a Hawaiian shirt and shades?

  11. I live in brazil, it's very hot in here for half of the year. Wear loose, comfortable clothing, it's the most you can do. The humidity and the heat will be annoying either way, though.

    High or not, life's great.

  12. Just dress with less clothing. Tank tops, shorts, stuff like that. Leave your warm clothes for days it's cold out.
