Hey everyone I am going to try and move on up in my growing room I was useing cfls before in my 4x4x7 tent but I had a friend tell me that I am wasting just as much energy as his 1000 watt set up so I am looking into buying a good little kit but there had to find a good price in canada or even someone who will ship it to me... any way that's a different story I was just wondering if a 1000 watt is to big for a 4x4x7 and I was looking into a filter and stuff like that should I go with a 6 inch?? I don't really know anything about these lights and the whole set up behind it
1kw is fine for a 4x4, most good ballasts are dimmable anyway which means you'll be able to turn it down to 600w if its too much, which might be only for a month or two of peak summer temps for me. I would use 2x 6" fans, one for odor and air exchange and the other for cooling your light. Alternately a single 8" can do both jobs but it's better to treat them seperately, gives you more control. I would also suggest a nice large hood for your 1kw, gives a better footprint. Raptors are fucking sweet but there are other brands.
