1St Grow Advice?

  1. So me and my friend have set up a grow closet, we're using a 600W HPS light. 18/6 cycle.
We have 3 plants, 2 are autoflowing white widows (germinated 25th march) and 1 bagseed (germinated a week or two before the widows).
After their first few weeks by a window they were moved to the closet.
We haven't added any nutrience yet. We're not quite sure what it needs, if it needs anything?
The soil we're using has a 7.5 PH and it's 5/10 on the nutrience 'chart' on the bag.
At night, the humidity is perfect. (75/80%) but temperature drops to around (12-15C)
In the day, the temperature is perfect (22-25C) but the humitiy drops to around 30%
We transplanted the one of the white widows around 5 days ago. We only did one because we weren't sure of the right time. But they both seem to be growing at the same rate anyway..
All the plants spent their first few weeks in the window.
The bagseed plant seems to be doing the best!
I know our air flow isn't the best but now we have some time to sort that out.
Also, when it comes to the bagseed flowering, as it's not autoflowering like the others, what should we do? If we change the cycle to 12/12 it'll screw up the widows, which are kind of the priority as we paid £20 for 5 seeds.
Are our plants going to plan? Are they growing too slow? Do they need any nutes? Is the 600 HPS too much for little ones?
    First time worries. ;)
Thanks for the help guys. Soon we'll have a proper grow tent. ^^

  2. First off, your soil pH is WAY to high. You need to bring that down to 6.0 - 6.5 or you're going to have problems soon. Your plants won't absorb nutes unless your pH is balanced within the criteria I gave you.

You won't need to feed it anything for a while.

  3. 75-80% humidity during lights out is a perfect environment for bud rot.

I would focus everything on your autos, let the bagseed veg until they're done. Trim it back if it gets out of control, then flip.

As for nutrients it depends on your soil. If the bag says "feeds for 90 days" then you probably won't have to feed them at all but you will have to ph it. If the soil is organic then it will only feed for a month or so and you don't have to ph it until you start adding chemicals, if that's the path you're choosing.

  4. Thanks bud, is there any 'preferred' way to lower the PH?

  5. I'm confused about your light. You said you had a 600HPS, but that doesn't look like one in the cab.

  6. Do you have a pH kit?

  7. No, I'll look into them.
Yeah man it's definitely 600w HPS

  8. $12

  9. I have to agree with Joker. Can you take a better picture of that lamp. It might have the ballast built in. but if you closed the door with a 600 watt HPS and no ventilation you could bake bread. Sorting out your grow closet now is very important, later on it will be difficult to rebuild.

As I see it, your light schedule and PH are the least of your problems. Let see your setup in more detail if possible.

  10. They're doing great! We've got a few more holes with a fan on the other side (for now) as a bit of ventilation.
And the ph has been lowered to 6.5. And they seem to be doing really well!
The other widow was stunted by the transplant. So the other one is bigger now.
