    5gal res
    .9 EC hanna meter
    5.8 ph
GH luca formula, and Bud Candy
    1000w
tap water left out for 24 hours ppms - 50

This is my first DWC grow and currently i have 3 plants in their 4th week of flower. All was smooth up till  last week i was running into strange PH dips, and PPM increases. As well their was some broken roots in the reservoirs. I changed out the reservoirs and stabilized at 400 PPMS each, 5.8 PH, also added a AC System cause temps were getting high that week. Now a couple days later i am still running into PH and PPM problems. My PH plunged in 24 hours from 5.8 to 4.8 and their are little root pieces broken off, as well the ppms has increased instead of decreased. I lowered the concentration since thats a sign it is to high but it has not fixed the problem. Its was first happening to my largest of the 3 now it is happening on my largest and 2nd largest, my third DWC plant is fine. I have looked at the root systems and they look very healthy, white (little stain due to micro), No slime or foul smell at all
The plants also look amazingly healthy, no signs of deficiency and flower is in full throttle

    anyone got experience with this?

  2. Its normal for the EC requirement to drop in the last few weeks of flowering, just keep lowering to keep it balanced. In the last week or two your ideal EC will likely be down to around 0.2-0.3

This is likely why your PH is dropping so hard. Some broken roots in late flower is normal too, but are they still clean and light coloured?

  3.
so just keep re adjusting and lowering ppm level. i was under the impression at the this time i should be giving more nutes and not dialing down. and yes the roots are very light, no slime no brown, look very clean

  4. The plants take up a lower concentration of nutes toward the end of flower but this doesn't necessarily mean they take up less total nutes, it may just mean they are simply taking up lots of water. Is your nutrient solution level dropping still?

Another reason why they are taking up a lower concentration is if there is something wrong. At this stage, because it's a little early to call this "late flower", it could be either reason. Can you put a photo up of the plants?

I find I have to start backing off the nutrient strength around 5 weeks but only slightly. Once it gets to 7 weeks it really drops and I usually don't add any more nutes and just top up the reservoir with water to keep EC low. By the 9th week they clearly aren't taking up any nutes anymore, but still plenty of water

i got some photos today when i went over to my grow, they are growing perfect even with the weird ph and ppm stability problem. their are no signs of deficiencies or problems that i have seen besides on one some possible heat stress to some top colas because one of them got so big. just got some big bud and gonna start adding to my strains that finish later, starting flush soon on 2 of thems (8 week strains)

photos 2 and 3 show what i see as some heat stress on top nugs, cola arent popping out, this one plant is so rigorous and is to big, we did not expect it to blow up
photo 4 shows the big one in the back
and photo 5 is my soil plant so beautiful in week 5 of flower critical sensi star free seed from order :)

the ppm and ph problem still does not make sense to me but i am just going to keep re balancing and lower ppm level to a stable spot, their all week 5 of flower and smell great

  6. Where are all the leaves man? That one looks naked. Without decent foliage to collect light it's not going to be able to use many nutes at all, so that's probably why it's lowering early. They are a little overdosed with nutes but nothing to worry about. Just keep dropping the EC/ppm to keep up with what they are taking up

  7.
i did some de foliage i guess a little to much, their are leaves on the others but the big one is naked we try to stunt height growth by taking off fan leaves or else it would have been in the lights. so by removing leaves the plant takes up fewer nutes (lower ppms) , didnt know thanks for the info

If you want to keep height down top the tips (TTT), bend the branches over and tie down (LST), or veg under a screen (ScrOG). Cutting any leaves off just stops the plant from using those leaves to collect light or breath
