Where To Vent My Hot Air Exhaust In Bedroom?

Discussion in 'Grow Room Design/Setup' started by ButterMyBunz, Apr 19, 2014.

  1. I have a bedroom where the tent will be. I was going to have it go out the window but then I realized not a good idea to exhaust hot air with ducting out my window. So then I thought I could make a box to cover the ducting then I realized it's bad in general to have hot air leaving a noticeable area like that. I can't hook it to the dryer vent that is in the basement. Can I just unscrew a vent in the wall and run ducting in that then cover it back up? Where should I vent my exhaust ducting ?

  2. The vents in your house that you can access without cutting into the wall are meant to push air into your living space not exhaust it out. You can always get a window exhaust kit for a portable air conditioner and vent it out your window without suspicion. Tons of people have portable A/Cs and they all exhaust hot air.

  3. Sorry I kind of get what you are saying. Are you saying modify an A/c or just use that thing you posted and attach ducting to it? The thing is isn't It bad to have hot air coming out of a window as police scanning will pick that up?

  4. Why is it not good to exhaust out your window?  There is not better place to put unwanted air.

  5. You don't need to modify you're A/C. Just use the window exhaust bracket from a portable A/C to keep it looking legit.

  6. I'm prob over reacting but isn't it bad due to cops seeing the heat?

  7. The people that complain about heat signatures are just as crazy as people that wear tin foil hats to stop aliens from reading their thoughts. The is at least a million perfectly good and legal reasons for heat coming out your window.

  8. This thread makes me smile

  9. Lmao do people really wear tin foil hats? But thanks for clearing that up. Of course Its sounds crazy to get busted for hot air coming out of a window, it does seem possible. The hot air coming out the window for 12/12 scared me a little because they could see the time frames as a pattern. I will just stop worrying and build a mini box so they can't see the ducting, that will at least help.

  10. Having your first post count be in my thread gave me a smile too, glad we make each other happy =) Happy 4/20

  11.
IF you have an INTAKE vent in your bedroom, you COULD exhaust into that. It COULD, however, mess with the thermostat and make your furnace think it is already warm enough, causing it to not turn on. As others have said, you can not exhaust into the vents that heat your room.

  12. Thanks for the info. I will just vent out my window by making a box painted black inside. Attach my ducting to that box and insulate the window.
