Having some Organic Sencha Japanese green tea today.

Used a generous amount of leaf.
Steeped at 175f for 3 mins.

Slightly bitter with a grassy, hay, mineral almost with a salty aftertaste.

The smell reminds me of wind rushing over a grassy field after a fresh rain.

This tea is shade grown so it has a larger amount of Chlorophyll and also larger amount of caffeine in comparison to a china green tea.

  6. Pretty sure the tea shop sells it for $180 per oz. Usually get a 1/2 which cost me $100 and I get a 12 of weed for 80 lol

    I think you are confused.
    http://www.teavana.com/the-teas/oolong-teas/p/monkey-picked-oolong-tea
Monkey oolong looks to be $199.84 per pound.

Let us do some math here.

    199.84/454
Price per pound divide by grams per pound.

Take that number and multiply it by how many grams you will use,

    Let us say 5..

    .44*5

So it appears it would cost $2.20 per cup.

That math is if one only steeps it a single time, but with most high quality teas especially oolong one can steep it in excess of 5-10 times.

I use 5 grams of leaf to 6 ounces of water for 15 seconds per steep, and increase it by 15 seconds each additional steep.

So it could cost you much less if you use the tea to it's fullest extent.

  8. I'm probably being ripped off then lol, although it is the best I've ever had. Like ever! And I use the same bag 4-5 times before tossing.

Idk I've had it from plenty of places but nothing really compares. They are a small shop, the first time I walked in I didn't even know it was a tea shop.

Any ways, the lady sold me on a 1/8 of the tea. For $30 I seem to remember that everything they sell is blended by them.

Honestly. 1/2 oz of tea last me 4-5 months as I don't always drink it, so I don't mind paying the $80 for it because it's one of the best teas I've ever had.

Or maybe I'm just getting ripped...

    Where you located?

That's more than double the price of what I can find.

The 1st grade organic tea is usually only like 99.99 per pound in my area.

3 cups is around .35 cents each but still I couldn't imagine paying 80 for a half ounce..

Indian spiced tea with honeybush tea blended.

I found this tea blend to be warming, contain lots of antioxidants, contain loads of minerals, and also pleasant thing to let steep for however long!
