Smoked With Pizza Guy

Discussion in 'Real Life Stories' started by GoodVibesOnly, Apr 19, 2014.

  1. I ordered pizza with two friends today, and we smoked while waiting for it. Probably smoked about 3-4 bong bowls along with a communal joint.. we were really high and didn't bother putting in eyedrops, or trying to air out my house. I just thought "it's the fucking pizza guy, the dude probably smokes a ton and may even be high when he comes here".

So the guy gets out of his car and he's this 6'8 (rough estimate) black guy wearing oakley's, a flannel that was way too small for him, and shorts that looked like a bathing suit (he later swore it wasnt a bathing suit, but come on.. shorts dont just "look" like a bathing suit).

Anyway, he hands me the two boxes of pizza, and I hand him the money. He kept his hand out and I was confused, and then I suddenly realized we werent tipping him.. and we had no more money, save for a bunch of change. I was thinking about awkwardly handing this intimidating man like 16 quarters but then he just said, "Alright look bro, I know you and your friends been getting high.. you got any more?" I didnt know what to say and sheepishly just said "Yeah haha". My friends had left the room as they were getting nervous. He goes "if you have any more, smoke me out and you dont gotta tip." I was like fuck it, this will be a great story.. lets do it.

Long story short, my friends and I smoked a few j's and then a few bowls out of the delivery guy's pipe (quality pipe, pink stripes on it). I found out his name is Cornelius and he played D3 basketball before really badly hurting his ankle. Said it was the most devastating setback of his life, as he never recovered. I informed him that as a middle class white american, I cant relate to his athletic ability, but sympathize with him nonetheless. In the end, he dapped us up and gave me his personal cell phone number. Every time I order pizza from the place, he'll try to be the driver to come to me, and we'll blaze like old pals.

Seriously you should have seen us.. 3 typical white teens with this massive black dude, all bonding over marijuana. Gotta love it

  2. Cannabis is the best for bringing races together.

  3. ive seen a porno where the pizza guy bonds over some head lol...

  4. The fact that he kept his hand out expecting a tip is slightly rude, I know one should tip a delivery person but it isn't against the law when you don't.

    Funny story nonetheless.

  5. Your avatar combined with this post... wow. You win life

  6. Haha I was so, too.. think about from his perspective though. It's his source of income, and he's most likely living on his own. It really matters.

And he ended up being a pretty amazing dude anyway

  7. My pizza guy gets bags off me. He gets $10 off if he shows up with a pizza.

  8. Dude the fact that he had his hand out waiting for the tip would pissed me off

  9. Haha most black people are very chill about bud. It's the white people you have to worry about and I'm white! :bolt:

I would have told him to GTFO. Then call the pizza company and tell them he's pushing people for tips

  11. tip the dam guy geez he makes minimum wages

  12. This.

Fucking hate when people think they're entitled to a tip and that sort of behaviour would result in no tip.

  13. If he had asked if i would mind smoking him out, i would have. If he told me "smoke me out and you dont have to tip" then i would have just offered him the change or nothing. Then again, if I order a pizza i make sure to have enough cash for a tip.

  14. Lol so demanding id be like the fact you expect it, nah... Then close the door

  15. Thank you.
My mates are always saying " you should have tipped"

    Why!

I do tip if I feel they made that extra effort. But it is a trend we seem to have adopted from the states.

Cause it's more or less expected there.
To the American peeps , does it not piss you off having to constantly tip?

Well a lot of the jobs that seem to 'require' tips are jobs that come with costs for the employee. As a pizza deliverer you have to come out of your pocket for gas, so it's just a way to help recoup that cost and actually make it profitable to work. Then theres the hidden costs like wear and tear to your car, that all need to be taken into account. I know some companies will give the employee a buck or so for each delivery they make, but it's nowhere near enough to handle the other costs.

It's also a little known fact that in many states over here in America waiters actually make less then minimum wage, sometimes by a large degree. The thinking behind it is that most of the money they make comes from tips, so its ok. I know thats the tail wagging the dog, but thats just how it is. Besides, waiting is a job that really should be rewarded when the effort is put forth. Even something as seemingly small as the waiters attitude goes a long way in making it a good night for the customer. Something they don't necessarily have to do....

  17. people that get tipped here in the US usually make less than minimum wage and they rely on those tips to make ends meet.

they purposly pay drivers and waiters less because its expected that they recieve tips. listen guys give the fuckin delivery guy 2 or 3 dollars or drive your fat ass to the shop and pick it up.

if your too cheap to tip your broke ass shouldnt be ordering 15$ pizzas

  19. Yes I realise that mate,

I just find it's a bit to much. Sone one parent family struggling on a min wage herself. But yet she is also required to tip.

And this surcharge on your bill with the amount they want you to tip, that IMO is just plain rude!

  20. Why would someone struggling to make it on minimum wage order a pizza? Ordering pizza is expensive. If you can't tip then just buy frozen pizza or eat something else.

And you realize the reason they put that surcharge on bills is exactly because not enough people were tipping? If the waiters don't make enough in tips, they leave. If they leave, the business suffers.
