Smoking With Eye Problems

Discussion in 'Marijuana Consumption Q&A' started by belts, Apr 18, 2014.

  1. Hey everyone. I was told by a specialist today that I have a torn retina. I will be tentatively getting surgery 3 weeks from now. My eyes were dilated twice today and were numbed several times.

Am I okay to smoke in say, 2 hours from now? They will be dilated pretty much the whole day. Anybody have a retinal tear? Am i cool to smoke?

    thanks

  2. I've never had a torn retina, so take what I say with a grain of salt.
But I would think you would be okay?....
Nothing is coming to me as to why it wouldn't be.
    But I'm not a optometrist.

  3. I would advise you to ask your doctor.  If you don't want to speak to him about it, then don't smoke.

  4. Avoid smoking, definitely. It can cause retinal detachment in patients with an increased risk. Your torn retina seems like that increased risk. Play it safe and rest easy after surgery.

  5. id say its ok to smoke a little.
dont over do it where your eyes will be hella red id imagine thts not that great for the eye
ohh yeah dont use eye drops never know what tht can do

dont take my word for this im far from a professional, but ultimately the best thing to do is ask your doc
