Hi guys I'm new to this website and I have a few pics and questions.... Hi I know somebody that does old/new computers and he's let me know he has a computer it's empty but it's new but strange but he's a honest guy so I believe him!!!! It's a Lian li case but I'm wondering if it's gonna be big enough as it's £60 basically I don't want to spend the money on a case which doesn't fit the things I need it to fit.... The case must fit a 125w cfl and a E40 uk socket plug or whatever it is...anyway it's to fit a 125w the adapter thing and the fans(2 fans) intake and outtake. Anyway it's to fit that..so as I've already said I've posted this thread to ask you guys if it would fit as at the moment I'm judging of spitting up £60( but shit happens I guess So I've posted this to get you guys to help out..as you are more experienced and have done this before if anyone could get back to me would be amazing and greatly appreciated)) Thanks and peaceâœŒï¸ Growinggreeninapc😊..
you know as much or more about your situation than anyone else dude. My advice? dont spend 60 pounds on an empty pc box. Go to some electronics recycling place and take home a server case for free or next to free. And then just see what you can fit in there. 125W of cfl will need a lot of cooling in a pc case. You cant go lower than a full tower for such a lamp. it takes too much space in a normal sized case. Gl
Well said. I can attest that it WILL hold the 125W CFL and the E40 adapter and still have about an inch of room to spare, but that's not much. I have a server case and am doing a similar setup. See what you can get for free, because cooling will be an issue and you're gonna want to drop some money on some computer fans and possibly a power supply you can wire up outside of the box.
The thing about Lian Li is they're very expensive cases to begin with. Your friend probably paid well in excess of 100 pounds for that case, and he wants to get some money back out of it. You can go over to http://www.pricewatch.com/cases_and_accessories/ and look around for computer cases, and find something easily just as big, and still have money left over to invest into fans, fan controllers, even temp monitors. Im a computer technician and thats where I go shopping for all of my computer parts.

sorry, I can't get your link to work. You need to measure your CFL you're buying...mine is nearly 15 inches long plus the size for the adapter socket. The auto won't grow much more than two feet tall, so you can use some clever LST technique to keep the height down and keep the canopy at the same height.
