Not Sure What A Yellowish Residue In Coffee Filter Is After Straining Buds For Hash

  1. so after having soaked my buds in iso. alcohol and straining it through a coffee filter, i noticed a pretty decent quantity of this yellow substance that has becomes powdery after drying in times ive come aross it before.  i know that making ice water hash involves straining through filters and a powdery substance is left so im just wondering if this could be something similar and is not something i should just throw away. In the pic i included the area of interest is being pointed to by the area, and has obviously not dried yet.

  2. Are they bleached ??

  3. I believe it could be parts of the trichomes that couldn't dissolve. I call it filter sand

I've taken it and tried to extract more from good amounts of it but you don't get much and it wasn't very good

  4. Trich heads with little to no resin left on them.

You should first strain your material through a mesh strainer into a separate jar or directly into another strainer lined with coffee filters to separate the iso mix from the material quickly. Makes for an all around better end result (if you use the same strainer make sure to wash the bits of material out before lining with filters to avoid little bits of flower in your qwiso). Iso should only be in contact with the material for a MAXIMUM of 30 seconds unless you have a dry ice set up or a salt water bath to hold extreme low temps.
