Why Do I Feel Like A Vape Doesnt Get Me High?

Discussion in 'Vaporizers' started by Im19, Apr 17, 2014.

  1. I have a volcano, not a digital just a standard dial. I have been smoking for about 2 years straight, it is definitely some really good piff. It feels if I take a huge bong rip I get higher. I usually have the dial on 6 or 7.

Anyone think I'm doing anything wrong? My bag isn't that big, and I usually only put like .5 at a time.

It definitely puts me to sleep, just not a good high.

  2. You need to wean yourself off of toxins that are in smoke, like benzine and carbon monoxide that provide a high of their own.   Stop smoking all together for about 3 weeks and just vape.    Report back how it goes.

  3. If it puts you to sleep try experimenting with lower temps

  4. ^^  That too.

It is because it is vapor. It hits you more lightly then conventional smoke. So you feel less of a hit even though you are still hitting the same amount. I feel the same way with vapes, but i still like them for what they are.

  6.
Then explain to me why my consumption decreased more than 50% when I went from smoke to vapor?

  7. Because everyone is different... I am not you nor you me. Why do some people like indicas and others like sativas? Everyone is different.

  8. Thanks very much guys, a lot of my friends told me to just take a tolerance break, but dude I am so damn stubborn! I guess I really have no choice at this point. I am very use to getting pretty drunk at the bars and then coming home and smoking, I guess that'll have to change too.

    Thanks again guys

  9. That is exactly why I use a vaporizer. I use every night (and sometimes during the day) as a medical user and it's not always desirable to be high. With my vaporizer, the high wears off pretty quickly. However, the other cannibanoids besides THC are still getting into my system so I get reliable symptom relief during the day by having a hit or two off my vaporizer at night.

If I really *want* to get utterly bombed, then I'll hit the pipe.

  10. Sometimes science isn't smarter than an observation from a certain type of person, as I've noticed goes on a lot on this forum, and more and more so.

  11. all my friends hate them and say they dont get as high

  12. Probably a quality control issue on the weed. If you have a good vape and good weed, you should be high as the sky.

I get so fucked up after vaporizing I'm paranoid sometimes for a little while and have to laugh at myself a bit in order to calm down, and I've been toking daily on the same strain for almost a year.

  13.
I agree, everyone IS different and everyone will react a bit differently, but what is also absolutely true is that the overwhelming majority who go from smoking to vaping actually do experience a pretty steep drop in consumption.

That's illogical. How would combusting plant matter get you higher? Please elaborate...

Vaporization activates the ingredients in the plant matter that we want without burning all the unnecessary components. Therefore it is easy to conclude that it would require less material to achieve the same effect.

If I burn a gram to ashes I guarantee it will weigh less than a gram that has been vaporized. Additionally the leftover AVB can be used in edibles which then allows for a second round of consumption. This cannot be done with combusted plant matter.

I think you may have misunderstood me. By no means do I even slightly believe that combustion is more efficient
I was stoned and upset that people come on here claiming ridiculous things, based on their stoned observations, rather than using science or valid sources, or logic, as you did, to back up what they have to say. Sorry if I misconstrued my point, im just tired of all these misconceptions

  16. I didn't get very high with my vape the first few times. But because I knew that vapes were more efficient in the long run, I gave it some time, and figured I just had to adjust to the different method of consumption. I gave up smoking, and have been exclusively vaping for about a year. The highs became much better in my opinion, and I now use less weed. I can still get very high off vaping, whereas I started to feel my high was "lacking" when I used to smoke exclusively.

Next time you vape, make sure you haven't smoked before or after. You want to get the feel of a true vape high.

Like I tell everyone, if you give it time, I'm certain you will be glad with the results.

  17. Vapor gets me higher, just slower hit-for-hit than taking bong rips

  18.
I rip my vapor through my bong.

But yeah, vapor typically is a creeper.

  19.
I TOTALLY understand where you're coming from.    Most of my time is spent over at FC where there is very little of this kind of thing going on, but here, there's quite a bit and I suspect it's because the demographic here is a LOT younger and MUCH less experienced with the use of a variety of different vaporizers, and while I too get really frustrated with this stuff, I need to remind myself that it's one of the primary reasons why I'm here which is not only to dispel a lot of these misconceptions but also to add a bit of perspective, especially to those looking to purchase a vaporizer.

This is true but when you vape your not getting all of the thc possible because theres still thc inside the bud that dose not get vaped. Why do think you still get high with avb? because your not getting all of the thc when you vape it. Ill stick to my bong. Burning all the plant material causes all the thc to be active and vapeing causes a majority of the thc to be active.

    everythings but an illusion
