Bought a half-o as a cop drove by... It seems as long as you don't hide it like a fiend you're fine. It all depends on the cop and where you are where I'm at we got hella cops but as long as you keep to yourself it's all good and as you said it "don't try to hide it like a fiend". I think the thing that makes them also want to stop people is when they are stressin. I'm in upstate NY as well, haha. What do you consider upstate tho? People on the island and in the city consider westchester upstate, but I don't consider it upstate unless you're north of Albany.
Obviously your in a good area upstate New York, I'm around the Hudson valley and cops do give a shit, I got arrested for weed so I'm pretty sure it just depends on the cop that gets you and where you actually are, maybe by you no one cares which is awesome but by me they're tight.

It just depends on the cop. I believe it's because the hold on recreational marijuana is being loosened by the day. It's like I told my girl at the beginning of the year "This is going to be marijuana's year and I guarantee you if you give it another 2-3 years it'll be full blown legal in the u.s. ,we're winning this war! We just gotta keep pushing for legalization more now than we ever have."
Marijuana is decriminalized in New York State. Any amount on a person less than an ounce is essentially a traffic ticket. It is up to the judge's discretion, but if you get caught with a reasonable amount for personal use, you will receive conditional discharge which amounts to a small fine and a slap on the wrist essentially. If you think the laws in New York State are bad, just go south to New Jersey, and you will be put on probation and go through a lot of bullshit for just the tiniest amount.
I think it's up to 27g only if it's bagged all together, not for distribution...and ya a seed in Oklahoma can fetch 10 years Federal, but even there the cops usually just take it if its under 1/4 Unless you're an obvious dealer of unmentionables then your usually fine edit: Also they don't give a shit about a lot of things, basically if it's a misdemeanor like broken tail light, weed, fights etc you're fine unless it's a State Trooper that answered the call. I would recommend reading up on the NYS public view laws (and the controversy surrounding them). Long story short, while it is decriminalized, NY cops play a dirty trick where, if they suspect you are in possession of narcotics they will simply ask you to empty your pockets. If you comply and pull out a sack of bud, it is now in public view and boom, misdemeanor. Moral of the story, don't trust NYS cops and don't empty your pockets, or consent to any searches of course.
