What Seeds To Buy?

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by hdafdafdasf, Apr 16, 2014.

  1. Hello, I am new to the forum and to the whole weed growing community. I am looking to buy some seeds from what I have been reading is the most trusted seed bank( Attitude) and am kind of confused on what is what and what would be good to buy for beginners. I am not to confident that my first batch is going to be successful, so I am looking to purchase cheaper seeds and only a few just in case I do mess up. On attitude's website, I was wondering what kind of seed, type of seed, sex, anything that would make it easy and cheap for a beginner to grow.

    Thanks

  2. ask someone you know that smokes that stuff wit seeds in it bound to have some laying around.

  3. ^agreed. Just get some out of a bag and have fun. If you spend money at this stage of your growing adventure, you'll just waste it. Wait until you've got a few good bagseed grows under your belt before buying good genetics.

  4. I agree with the whole not wasting money part by using left over bag seeds, but where I live in the mid-west, and it supposedly taking 8-10 weeks to grow, I will only be able to grow one batch of plants before it is to late in the year to start another grown with genetically good seeds.

    Thoughts?

  5. If you want to buy some good genetics, I suggest going for a seed with a high thc content, and a large yield.

  6. Everyone who says "don't waste your money" is kind of right. I didn't listen to them on my first grow and only 6 of the 14 made it out alive. It is also important to keep in mind that I did damn near a year of research and had the entire ground work for my first grow laid out, I didn't just put seeds in the soil and then ask questions as I went. Getting some bag seeds would obviously be the cheapest, but if you have the spare cash, there is no reason not to order some. I would suggest female auto flowering. Anything to that extent is your best bet. If anything take advantage of attitudes pick and mix and grab as many as you can and even scoop up their free seeds as well.

The thing is if I was to do this, I would be grateful for a 6 out of 14 plant turn out for my first grow. But I am asking around for bag seeds and hopefully can get my hands on some of those. Also, when I was reading, I was seeing numbers on some of the plants about how much they yield and was seeing numbers in the teens as far as ounces. That seemed a little over the top I would think but maybe not. What is a typical yield off a normal sized plant.

You seemed informed enough so may I ask, where did you actually purchase your seeds, and what seeds got you a 6 out of 14 turnout. Also, like i stated in my first post, can you get 2 grows in one season outdoors or how does that work? After you harvest the product, the plant is no longer needed as well correct?

    Thanks

  8. I guess I am the oddity, but I wish I had just bought good genetics to start with. Feminized seeds from a stable strain saves so much wasted time.

  9.
If you buy feminized seeds, almost all of them should be good. If you are using bag seed, it is likely that a lot of them will be non viable. Sometimes you can take 10 seeds out of a bag, germinate them all, and only get 2 good plants... then you have to hope they are female.

And NO you can not do 2 outdoor crops in one season. You could, however possibly bring full grown plants outdoors from inside at different times in the early summer and have then be finished a couple weeks apart. Strains could also come into factor in how long something takes outdoors, but you'd have to play around with that for a few years lol

Oh, and after you harvest, it's done. Some people growing indoors clip their buds and leave some leafs at the bottom then throw it back into veg to regrow it. I have never tried it.

Okay cool, we'll I think I learned quite a bit and have made my decision and am going to end up purchasing some feminized seeds.

Now as far as yields go what is a typical yield from a average plant? Also, what would ideal conditions, soil, and compost be to grow a plant?
