Hey guys, Just wanted to post an update of my g13 labs Pineapple Express Auto. The plants have been doing great, some of you might remember my issue last week with yellowing leaves, turns out that I was measuring the ph in the reservoir instead of in a cup so the water is still. This was really messing with my readings and resulted in my ph going way too low. As you can see now the plants are looking great. I did the first step of my LST plan today. I plan to put the next hooks in opposite corners and bring them around the edges of the tub, I think that will help me make the most out of my grow. The roots are also looking good. I noticed a HUGE difference in growth when the roots finally got into the solution. I think next time I will fill the water enough to always have them soaking. Feedback would be greatly appreciated!!
.... And suppercroping. Wouldn't try that either. Anything that socks the plant is bad. It'll still grow but because it flips on a set time rather than light it might not recover properly and your plant won't have reached full potential. It'll b trying to repair itself rather than focus on getting big n busy ready for flower http://forum.grasscity.com/index.php?/topic/1291443-SWEET-TOOTH-&-CHOCOLATE-SKUNK-AUTO-ADVENTURE
Carry on until the stretch is over, about 3-4 weeks with autos, after that it's all about the bud... I don't think you've got long but there's no harm in carrying on http://forum.grasscity.com/index.php?/topic/1291443-SWEET-TOOTH-&-CHOCOLATE-SKUNK-AUTO-ADVENTURE
Hey guys, I have an update on the LST I did on the pineapple express. They are looking GREAT. I clipped off 1 fan leaf on the one on the left because it was blocking like 3 bud sites. The LST definitely did it's job and i'm seeing all the side branches grow nicely. All the bud sites on the plant already are crazy. Only 27 days in and we're looking good. What do you guys think???
Looking good B-) I sometimes take fan leaves off but only if they can't be tucked under http://forum.grasscity.com/index.php?/topic/1291443-SWEET-TOOTH-&-CHOCOLATE-SKUNK-AUTO-ADVENTURE
Bud doesn't collect light. Leaves collect light. If bud is blocking a leaf, move the leaf so it can collect the light. Don't cut it off, cutting off leaves can only lower production of carbohydrates that it has made from carbon dioxide and water. It uses light to combine these. The plant takes in carbon dioxide through the leaves . So if you cut these off where do you think the plant will get its carbohydrates that it uses to make bud ?
It doesn't. Thanks for explaining it so clearly I totally understand now. I only cut off 2 little leaves so I don't think it will be bad but I will make sure to not make the same mistake again. Thanks!!
If the bud is green it will likely photosynthesise a bit, but even then most of the green gets shaded by pistils and glandular trichomes. It's the big leaves that do all the work I'm sure someone will chime in soon and say the leaves do nothing and it's the bud that collects light, but I guarantee they will have no explanation to go with it. It will just be something they heard of some guy lol
Looks nice, I grew the PE in soil (not an auto though) from G13 also, I'm still smoking on it, it's one of my favorites and a good producer. Yours looks really nice and happy, good luck.
Yeah man what you are saying 100% makes sense to me. Will be sure not to cut anymore leaves. Thanks alot!!
Thanks a lot man I appreciate that. Glad to hear you had success with this strain, too bad you didn't grow the auto though, been trying to find someone who has to ask them how long it took. The site says 55 days seed to harvest but that seems crazy unrealistic.
Ya man, my experience is that if you have a really healthy plant it may run a bit longer than they say to finish completely (~1-2 weeks) for most seeds. Patience is key, the last two weeks are your time to pack on weight and trich's. Which is what I'm waiting on right now, it's killing me to wait ..
That's good to know. I am in my last 2-3 weeks (I think) of my New York Diesel plant. Gonna start flushing middle of next week. Do you have any tips on what I can do to pack on some extra weight or trichs or just give it plain water and let it do its thing?? Here is a link so you can check her out: http://forum.grasscity.com/indoor-medical-marijuana-growing/1296850-took-much-better-pictures-you-guys-how-long-till-harvest.html
What are your trichomes like? Only sure fire way to know when she's ready... Most people kill the lights a day or two before chopping. Leave em in complete darkness. When I'm flushing they get nothing but water for about ten days then let em dry right out b4 killing the lights http://forum.grasscity.com/index.php?/topic/1291443-SWEET-TOOTH-&-CHOCOLATE-SKUNK-AUTO-ADVENTURE
The trichromes are all clear for now so i'm still waiting. I have heard about this complete darkness thing but not sure what it does. I think i'll give it a shot
