4 Weeks Into Flowering And Seeing Problems Help

  1. Ok guys so its been a while since ive posted in a marijuana forum for growing but im back and need some advice on what to do with my babies, heres some background info on them. PLEASE READ WHOLE POST BEFORE GIVING ADVICE!

Strains- Afghan, Pineapple Express, Gods Bud, and Death Star *All in 5 gal pots*

Setup- 5x9 Grow tent,1000w hps, inline fan bringing air in to cool that bad boy, and a carbon filter to cover that smell

Ingredients- Pro Mix soil, Rock Nutrients, with a little cal mag

Now my problem is that im loosing alot of my lower leaves turning yellow/brownish and my top nodes where my buds are the tips are a neon yellow with some brown in the ends I've also noticed that the stems are beginning to turn purple and seem to be running into my leaves turning the veins of leaves to also turn purple in the middle.

Trust me ive done my research on this i know all the possiblities of what it could be nutrient lock out, ph problem, temp problem, nitrogen def etc. but ive ruled out that it most likely is a nutrient lock out from what ive read about rock nutrients and how they build up alot of salt in the soil and need to be flushed almost weekly in flowering because of it, but ive heard once you flush in flowering it can cause the buds to stop fattening up and you're pretty much stuck with the product you already got and if thats the case ill just leave them as they are I was told by my local hydro store that they have heard and seen about rock nutrients turning the tip a neon yellow and that its normal to loose bottom leaves in flowering basically suggesting that i leave it alone and dont mess up a healthy grow thats already going but to me i know when my plants are healthy and something just isnt right here so please help me out guys and gals should i just flush them and see what happens or leave them alone and continue feeding as usual until they are ready for a final flush ? Heres some pics. Thanks!

  2. What is your ph and the runoff? And how old are the plants?

  3. My ph before I feed is 6.3-6.6 my run off is 5.8 and they are approx. right around 3 months old and 4 weeks into flowering.

  4. You can flush in flower no problem, and would suggest doing so if you think it's from excessive salts.  Fuck bottled nutes!

I can't offer much more help than that.  It appears to be a N deficiency but the yellow tips are strange.  I'm afraid your bud growth is going to be affected soon from the leaf die-off.  That's too much yellow for week 4.

    Subbed to hear others.

  5. Ok thanks man I already have noticed slowing in growth of the buds and its really frustrating at this point but I'm going to flush tomorrow when they are dried out and I'm off work.

  6. Yeah I might would try a flush too. When my shit starts getting wonky that's one of the first things I do. BUT...I'm in hydro now. It's been a while since I've had anything in dirt. So I'm not the best source of advice.

  7. fix runoff by flushing with a higher p.h, 7-7.5 and allow to recover a couple days. then resume normal feeding

  8. Sorry to bust in on your topic. My plants started exhibiting the exact same symptoms as of 2 or 3 days ago. I'm growing in rockwool, so little different there. But my tips are neon yellow like that and starting to brown, indicative of over-feeding, but my EC is only 0.56 and I've actually been lowering it as it liked to keep climbing so I feel like it can't be a burn.
But at the same time, My middle and upper leaves are yellowing, similar to a Mag deficiency, inter-veinal; and my lower leaves are starting to yellow too like a nitrogen deficiency. pH has been spot on 5.7-5.9 constantly. I'm intrigued with the salt build-up theory, does anyone know if this can happen in rockwool/hydro too? I'll snap a few new photos and put on the end of my thread if anyone wants to check it out and advise...

    Thanks
